Citric acid conditioning as an alternative to EDTA for growth factors release and stem cell response in regenerative endodontics: A systematic review of in vitro studies
Citric acid (CA) conditioning may be a promising alternative to ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs), as reported to improve growth factors ’ release from dentin. This review systematically investigated the effect of CA conditioning on the growth factors release from dentin and cell behavior compared to EDTA conditioning. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Bacteriologic Conditions of the Apical Root Canal System of Teeth with and without Posttreatment Apical Periodontitis: A Correlative Multianalytical Approach
This study used a correlative multianalytical approach to investigate the bacteriologic conditions in the apical root canal system of treated teeth with or without apical periodontitis and their correlation with the technical quality of the previous root canal obturation and the presence and volume of apical periodontitis lesions. Wound-healing processes after pulpotomy in the pulp tissue of type 1 diabetes mellitus model rats
Patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM1) tend to have delayed wound healing, even in the pulp tissue. We hypothesized that hyperglycemia affects odontoblast-like cell (OLC) differentiation and is involved in macrophage polarization. Accordingly, we evaluated dental pulp stem cell differentiation and macrophage phenotypes after pulpotomy. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Insights into the December 2023 Issue of the JOE
To date, no study has evaluated the postoperative pain of calcium hydroxide sealer and calcium silicate root canal sealers. Thus, the authors of this investigation (1) compared postoperative pain of mandibular molars with symptomatic apical periodontitis using EndoSeal MTA (Maruchi, Wonju, Korea) against Sealapex (Kerr, Bioggio, Switzerland) (1). Sixty patients were randomly enrolled into two groups. Using non-parametric analysis ,the authors reported no statistical significant difference between the groups. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)
