Clinicopathological features of advanced colorectal serrated lesions: a single ‐center study in china
ConclusionsASLs are more likely to occur in the proximal colon, and mainly present as flat type and sub‐pedunculated type. Large ASLs are significantly associated with sACN. These data will provide a better understanding of the clinical management of ASLs. (Source: Journal of Digestive Diseases)

Polyethylene glycol ‐based bowel preparation before colonoscopy for selected inpatients: A pilot study
CONCLUSIONSOur data support the conclusion that the schedule protocol proposed in this study enables a clear diagnosis in most of the inpatients at high risk of poor bowel preparation and no statistical differences were found between the two groups in terms of successful bowel cleansing achieved. Therefore, the same‐day, low‐dose 1‐L PEG bowel preparation could be introduced for selected inpatients. (Source: Journal of Digestive Diseases)

Clinical factors are associated with vitamin D levels in IBD patients: A retrospective analysis
CONCLUSIONSVitamin D deficiency is common in patients with IBD. However, certain clinical situations lead to significantly lower vitamin D levels and may therefore require close monitoring for vitamin D deficiency. (Source: Journal of Digestive Diseases)

Specific changes of enteric mycobiota and virome in inflammatory bowel disease
One of the important features of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is dysbiosis of the gut microbiota. It has been well documented that changes in the commensal bacterial population are involved in IBD development. However, the function of the fungal and viral communities in IBD remains unclear. Moreover, the optimal treatment for IBD patients with opportunistic infections is still undecided. This review focused on how the enteric mycobiota and virome changes during the pathogenesis of IBD and discussed potential treatment strategies that open new insights into the managements of IBD. Are we any closer to treating liver fibrosis (and if no, why not)?
Abstract This review provides a personal view on anti‐fibrosis therapy in liver. The worst clinical consequence of liver fibrosis is the development of liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Etiology is a decisive factor which determines patterns of fibrous septa and subsequent vascular remodeling, which is essential for the development of portal hypertension. Removing or controlling the disease‐causing agent, i.e. anti‐viral treatment for hepatitis, is the essential first step for treating chronic liver diseases and can reverse fibrosis in some settings. However, removing etiology is not always sufficient to preve...
