Navigating adalimumab biosimilars: an expert opinion
This article explores the characteristics of various adalimumab biosimilars to help clinicians navigate the various options available across Europe and the USA. In addition to drug selection, effective patient-physician communication is needed to nurture realistic patient expectations and minimise potential nocebo effects when prescribing biosimilars.PMID:37855223 | DOI:10.57264/cer-2023-0117 (Source: Journal of Comparative Effectiveness Research)

Reducing length of antibiotics for children with ear infections: protocol for a cluster-randomized trial in the USA
This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating the effectiveness and implementation outcomes of two low-cost interventions of differing intensities to increase guideline-concordant antibiotic durations in children with AOM. Methods: The higher intensity intervention will consist of clinician education regarding guideline-recommended short durations of antibiotic therapy; electronic health record (EHR) prescription field changes to promote prescribing of recommended short durations; and individualized clinician audit and feedback on adherence to recommended short durations of therapy in comparison to peers, while the lower ...

Availability of comparative real-world evidence research in Medicare patients: implications for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services drug price negotiations
Conclusion: Our results demonstrate there is a considerable amount of comparative RWE for apixaban, rivaroxaban, and etanercept but limited comparative RWE for the other drugs set to undergo CMS price negotiations in 2026; additionally, our findings set up a number of next steps (e.g., risk of bias assessments) for further exploration of the available evidence base. Overall, CMS and manufacturers should consider proactively generating high-quality comparative RWE studies in the Medicare population to ensure that future price negotiations are based on robust evidence.PMID:37815792 | DOI:10.57264/cer-2023-0125 (Source: Journ...
