Repeated Negative Urine Trypsinogen-2 Dipstick Test Rules Out Diagnosis of Post-ERCP Pancreatitis
Conclusions: A positive dipstick seems to identify PEP cases and a negative test excludes PEP with high accuracy. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Risk Factors Associated With Postendoscopic Mucosal Resection Bleeding in Patients With Cirrhosis: A Retrospective Multicenter Cohort Study
Conclusions: EMR in cirrhotics has an acceptable bleeding risk. Age above 65 years, right colon polyp, polyp size>15 mm, and use of antiplatelets within 5 days are independent risk factors for bleeding. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Are at Higher Risk for Meningitis
Conclusions: Although the overall rate of meningitis is low, IBD patients are at an increased risk compared with non-IBD comparators. Comorbidities are a risk factor for meningitis in IBD patients. Pneumococcal and meningococcal vaccinations should be discussed. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

≥3 Nonadvanced Adenomas are More Common in the Era of Contemporary Colonoscopy and Not Associated With Metachronous Advanced Neoplasia
Introduction: Data from standard definition colonoscopy era demonstrate patients with an advanced adenoma (≥10 mm, villous features or high-grade dysplasia) or ≥3 nonadvanced adenomas are considered high-risk for metachronous advanced neoplasia (MAN). Low-risk adenoma (LRA) patients are those with 1 to 2, (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Estimating the Impact of Verification Bias on Celiac Disease Testing
Conclusions: The CER may have largely overestimated the sensitivity of IgA tTG due to a failure to account for verification bias. These findings suggest caution in the interpretation of a negative IgA tTG to rule out celiac disease in clinical practice. More broadly, they highlight the impact of verification bias on diagnostic accuracy estimates and suggest that studies at risk for this bias be excluded from systematic reviews. Low Risk of Progression of Barrett’s Esophagus to Neoplasia in Women
Background and Aims: Men are at a higher risk for Barrett’s esophagus (BE) and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC), but little is known about BE progression to dysplasia and EAC in women. We performed a retrospective, multicenter cohort study to assess risk of BE progression to dysplasia and EAC in women compared with men. We also investigated comorbidities, medication use, and endoscopic features that contribute to sex differences in risk of BE progression. Methods: We collected data from large cohort of patients with BE seen at 6 centers in the United States and Europe, followed for a median 5.7 years. We obtain...

Short Meal-to-Bed Time Is a Predominant Risk Factor of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease in Pregnancy
Conclusions: We reported for the first time that short MTBT was a predominant risk factor of GERD in pregnancy. This dieting habit was significantly associated with reflux symptom frequency and reflux-related insomnia. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

A Review of Endoscopic Full-thickness Resection, Submucosal Tunneling Endoscopic Resection, and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Resection of Subepithelial Lesions
Gastrointestinal subepithelial tumors (SETs) are often found while performing routine endoscopy. Recently, there has been the development of new endoscopic techniques such as endoscopic submucosal dissection, submucosal tunnel endoscopic resection, and endoscopic full-thickness resection, all minimally invasive approaches which have made it possible to resect SETs that were previously resected with surgery. This review discusses the endoscopic treatment of patients with SETs, outcomes for endoscopic treatment, procedure-related complications, and advantages and disadvantages of these endoscopic techniques. Oral Fecal Microbiota Transplant Capsules Are Safe and Effective for Recurrent Clostridioides difficile Infection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Oral FMT capsules for rCDI are promising because of ease of administration and noninvasive delivery. We found an overall efficacy of 82.1% with a low rate of serious adverse events. Further studies are needed to optimize protocols and outcomes. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Efficacy and Safety of Full-thickness Resection Device (FTRD) for Colorectal Lesions Endoscopic Full-thickness Resection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Background and Aims: Endoscopic full-thickness resection (eFTR) is a field of increasing interest that offers a minimally invasive resection modality for lesions that are not amenable for resection by conventional methods. Full-thickness resection device (FTRD) is a new device that was developed for a single-step eFTR using an over-the scope-clip. In this meta-analysis, we aim to assess the efficacy and safety of FTRD for eFTR of colorectal lesions. Methods: A Comprehensive literature review of different databases to identify studies reporting FTRD with outcomes of interest was performed. Studies with (Source: J...
