Development and Validation of the Chronic Gastritis Scale Under the System of Quality of Life Instruments for Chronic Diseases QLICD-CG Based on Classical Test Theory and Generalizability Theory
Background and Aim: Quality of life (QOL) for patients with chronic gastritis (CG) is of interest worldwide and disease-specific instruments are needed for clinical research and practice. This paper focused on the development and validation of the CG scale under the system of Quality of Life Instruments for Chronic Diseases (QLICD-CG) by the modular approach and both classical test theory and generalizability theory. Methods: The QLICD-CG was developed based on programmed decision procedures including multiple nominal and focus group discussions, in-depth interviews and quantitative statistical procedures. Based...

Inflammatory Bowel Disease and COVID-19: How Have Patients Coped So Far?
Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic is a major concern of patients with IBD. However, the cumulative prevalence in our cohort is low. Patients at risk should be identified and counseled individually. When required because of the local COVID-19 situation, telecommunication visits and liberal prescription policies are advisable to reduce in-person contacts, while ensuring continuous therapy and maintaining communication with patients. Delayed Gastric Emptying in Prelung Transplant Patients Is Associated With Posttransplant Acute Cellular Rejection Independent of Reflux
Discussion: Lung transplant recipients with pretransplant DGE have a higher incidence of ACR, independent of GER. Routine pretransplant testing for DGE may help identify patients at greater risk for adverse posttransplant outcomes as the majority of patients with DGE are asymptomatic. Digital Single-operator Cholangioscopy (DSOC) Improves Interobserver Agreement (IOA) and Accuracy for Evaluation of Indeterminate Biliary Strictures: The Monaco Classification
Conclusions: The Monaco classification identifies 8 visual criteria for biliary lesions on single-operator digital cholangioscopy. Using the criteria, the IOA and diagnostic accuracy rate of DSOC is improved compared with prior studies. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Postinfection Irritable Bowel Syndrome Following Clostridioides difficile Infection: A Systematic-review and Meta-analysis
Conclusions: Over 20% of patients develop PI-IBS after CDI. Factors such as diagnostic criteria for IBS and CDI treatment did not affect prevalence, though small numbers limit the confidence in these conclusions. Larger, well conducted studies are needed to study PI-IBS in CDI. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Comparison of Biliary Drainage Techniques for Malignant Biliary Obstruction: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-analysis
Conclusions: The available evidence did not favor any intervention for drainage of malignant biliary obstruction across all the outcomes assessed. ERCP with or without EUS should be considered first to allow simultaneous tissue acquisition and biliary drainage. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Complications of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography in Patients With Previous Bariatric Surgery: A National Inpatient Sample Analysis, 2007-2013
This study aims to assess the safety and clinical outcomes of ERCP in patients with previous BS. Materials and Methods: The National Inpatient Sample from 2007 to 2013 was queried for hospitalizations of adults over 18 years of age with procedure diagnoses of ERCP. Those with prior BS were selected as cases and those without BS as controls. Case-control matching at a ratio of 1 case to 2 controls was performed based on sex, age, race, comorbidities, and obesity. The primary outcomes were inpatient mortality and ERCP-related complications. Multivariate regression analysis was used to identify independent risk factors...
