Bioinformatics analysis of lncRNA ‑ associated ceRNA network in melanoma
Melanoma is an extremely malignant tumor with early metastasis and high mortality. Little is known about the process of by which melanoma occurs, as its mechanism is very complex and only limited data are available on its long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)-associated competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs). The purpose of this study was to screen out potential prognostic molecules and identify a ceRNA network related to the occurrence of melanoma. We screened 169 differentially expressed mRNAs (DEmRNAs) from E-MTAB-1862 and GSE3189; gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis showed that these genes were closely related to the development...

Centromere Protein F (CENPF) Serves as a Potential Prognostic Biomarker and Target for Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Overexpression of Centromere Protein F (CENPF) is associated with tumorigenesis of many human malignant tumors. But the molecular mechanism and prognostic value of CENPF in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are still unclear. In this essay, expression of CENPF in HCC tumors were evaluated in a series of databases, including GEO, TCGA, Oncomine, GEPIA, The Human Protein Atlas and Kaplan-Meier plotter. It was apparent that mRNA and protein expression levels of CENPF were significantly increased in patients with HCC and were manifestly associated with the tumor stage of HCC. Aberrant expressions of CENPF were signi...

Pygo2 as a novel biomarker in gastric cancer for monitoring drug resistance by upregulating MDR1
In this study, to evaluate the underlying relationship between Pygo2 and MDR1 in GC, we constructed GC drug-resistant cell lines, SGC7901/cis-platinum (DDP), and collected tissue from GC patients' pre-and post-chemotherapy. We found that Pygo2 was overexpressed in GC, especially in GC drug-resistant cell lines and GC patients who underwent neoadjuvant DDP-based chemotherapy. Pygo2 overexpression may precede MDR1 and correlates with MDR1 in GC patients. Furthermore, knock-down of Pygo2 induced downregulation of MDR1 and restored SGC7901/DDP's sensitivity to DDP. Further mechanistic analysis demonstrated that Pygo2 could mod...

Lower-dose decitabine improves clinical response compared with best supportive care in lower-risk MDS patients: a prospective, multicenter phase 2 study
Conclusion: Lower-dose decitabine demonstrated promising clinical response with acceptable toxicity profiles in patients with low- and intermediate 1-risk MDS. A higher response rate to decitabine was observed in patients with mutated genes. Therefore, lower-dose decitabine can be advocated for patients with low-risk MDS and mutated genes. miR-369 inhibits Liver Cancer progression by targeting ZEB1 pathway and predicts the prognosis of HCC patients
Increasing evidences show that microRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in the regulation of tumorigenesis, progression, recurrence and drug resistance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). miR-369 works as a tumor suppressor in both lung cancer and thyroid cancer. However, the potential biological function of miR-369 in HCC is unknown. Herein, we for first found that miR-369 expression was downregulated in HCC tissues and predicted the poor prognosis of HCC patients. Forced miR-369 expression inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of HCC cells in vitro and in vivo. Mechanically, bioinformatics and luciferase reporter analysis ide...
