Mapping ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)
ConclusionThis review underscores an urgent need for ELSI research to align more closely with clinical practice, promoting collaborations among ethicists, clinicians, policymakers, and economists. Such efforts are essential for grounding debates in practical relevance, ultimately steering PGT towards ethical integrity, societal acceptance, and equitable access, aiming to harmonize PGT research with real-world clinical concerns, enhancing the relevance and impact of future ethical discussions. Human metaphase II oocytes with narrow perivitelline space have poor fertilization, developmental, and pregnancy potentials
ConclusionsOocytes with NPVS have low fertilization and developmental potential, as well as low likelihood of pregnancy. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Extraction and identification of exosomes from three different sources of human ovarian granulosa cells and analysis of their differential miRNA expression profiles
ConclusionHuman ovarian granulosa cells of different origins are capable of secreting exosomes, but there are still some differences in their exosomes and exosomal miRNAs, and experimental subjects should be selected rationally according to the actual situation. Is there a preferred time interval between gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist trigger and oocyte retrieval in GnRH antagonist cycles? A retrospective cohort of planned fertility preservation cycles
ConclusionsThe GnRHa trigger to oocyte retrieval interval range in our cohort did not significantly affect oocyte yield and maturation rate. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Identification of novel homozygous asthenoteratospermia-causing ARMC2 mutations associated with multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella
ConclusionWe identified two novelARMC2 variants that caused male infertility and MMAF in Han Chinese patients. These findings expand the mutational spectrum ofARMC2 and provide insights into the complex causes and pathogenesis of MMAF. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Culture media affect sex after IVF treatment —a detailed analysis of explanatory variables
ConclusionMore male children were born after culture in Sage media compared to G-TL media. Male embryo development was affected by culture media. Our observations suggest that culture media impact male embryo quality selectively, thus potentially favoring the selection of male embryos. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Live birth outcomes following single-step blastocyst warming technique – optimizing efficiency without impacting live birth rates
ConclusionsThe study found equivalent outcomes for SS and SW in all parameters except for a slight rise in the rate of multiple gestations. The results suggest that SS warming is an efficient, viable alternative to SW, reducing thaw times without adverse effects on live birth rates or neonatal birth weights. Patient interest in and clinician reservations on polygenic embryo screening: a qualitative study of stakeholder perspectives
ConclusionA gap exists between clinician and patient attitudes toward PES; clinicians generally maintained reservations about such screening and patients indicated interest in it. Clinicians and patients sometimes imagined using PES to prepare for the birth of a predisposed or “affected” individual—a rationale that is often associated with prenatal testing. Many clinicians and patients held different attitudes depending on what is specifically screened, despite the sometimes blurry distinction between conditions and traits. Considerations raised by clinicians and pa tients may help guide professional societies in dev...
