Glaucoma after penetrating keratoplasty and keratoprosthesis
CONCLUSIONS: A preoperative diagnosis of glaucoma does not preclude KPro implantation. In glaucomatous eyes, the disease progressed similarly in both groups. Since both procedures increase the risk of worsening glaucoma, close follow-up is recommended. KPro may decrease the need for further corneal transplantation surgery.PMID:37973521 | DOI:10.1016/j.jfo.2023.07.023 (Source: Journal Francais d Ophtalmologie)

Corneal endothelial validation in the eye bank: differences in automated methods and repeatability
CONCLUSIONS: ECD values are reproducible with both methods, although the flex-center method ECDs tend to be higher, particularly in cases of low ECD. Eye banks and surgeons should exercise caution in making decisions based only on small differences in ECD.PMID:37951743 | DOI:10.1016/j.jfo.2023.09.017 (Source: Journal Francais d Ophtalmologie)

Retinal arterial occlusion and patent foramen ovale: A case study-based review
CONCLUSION: Timely diagnosis, acute management, and ensuring urgent initiation of stroke workup in cases with RAO or transient monocular vision loss are crucial. Clues to a possible paradoxical embolism as the cause include the absence of known cardiovascular risk factors, young age, migraine, recent immobility, vigorous exercise, and pregnancy.PMID:37951744 | DOI:10.1016/j.jfo.2023.07.022 (Source: Journal Francais d Ophtalmologie)
