Bilateral anterior tibial artery entrapment by the ankle extensor retinaculum: case report
This article reports the case of a patient with intermittent claudication in both feet due to extrinsic compression of the anterior tibial artery bilaterally by the extensor retinaculum of the ankle, diagnosed by vascular ultrasonography and angiotomography during plantar flexion maneuvers. The patient was treated surgically, resulting in improvement of clinical symptoms. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Traumatic pseudoaneurysm in brachial artery after removal of a subdermal contraceptive implant
Abstract The frequency of invasive therapeutic procedures has increased as medicine...

COVID-19 diagnosis in a patient with critical limb ischemia: complications and clinical outcomes
Abstract A 67-year-old male diabetic patient with systemic arterial hypertension was admitted to the emergency department with a necrotic ulcer in the left external malleolus and no palpable popliteal or pedal pulses. Arterial Duplex ultrasound identified femoropopliteal occlusion, with popliteal refilling below the knee and a patent peroneal artery. An endovascular procedure was performed, requiring retrograde access to the popliteal artery to re-establish blood flow and deploy a popliteal stent. Technical success was achieved and the patient underwent debridement of the wound. Two days later, about 48 hours after the ope...

Are young Iranian women with metabolically healthy obesity at increased risk of CVD incidence?
Conclusions Results of the present study demonstrate that young women displaying the MHO phenotype have a favorable metabolic profile as shown by lower FBS, TG, LDL-c/HDL, Cho/HDL, hs-CRP, and AIP and higher HDL levels than the MUO phenotype. However, MHO individuals were still at greater risk of CVD incidence (lower HDL and higher hs-CRP levels) than MHNW individuals.

Portal vein thrombosis in laparoscopic vertical gastrectomy – laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy: a case series

Dual endovascular repair (coils and stent) of a true aneurysm of the gastroduodenal artery
We report a case of an asymptomatic gastroduodenal artery aneurysm diagnosed in a 39 year-old woman. An abdominal ultrasound study showed an aneurysmal dilatation of the gastroduodenal artery with 2 x 2 cm diameter. To confirm this finding, she then underwent a computed tomography scan of the abdomen and pelvis that showed a saccular aneurysm of the gastroduodenal artery. A dual endovascular approach was used to exclude the aneurysm by stent-assisted coil embolization. Complete exclusion of the aneurysm sac was confirmed on final angiography. She was discharged from the hospital on postoperative day 1.Resumo Relatamos um c...

Translation, cultural adaptation, and validation of a lipedema symptoms questionnaire
Conclusions The translated and culturally adapted Brazilian Portuguese version of the lipedema symptoms assessment questionnaire (QuASiL) is a practical tool that is easy and quick to administer and can be used in our population. Additional studies are still needed to assess the instrument ’ s sensitivity as an aid for diagnosis of lipedema. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Prevalence of left iliac vein compression on computed tomography scans from a population
Conclusions Our study suggests that iliac vein compression is common among random patients who have had computed tomography for any other reason. This indicates that compression found on tomography images is not the only finding to consider when treating a patient. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Chikungunya fever and lymphedema of limbs
Conclusions Patients with chronic venous ulcers exhibit frailty or pre-frailty and the components that comprise the condition of frailty in this population are exhaustion, low physical activity, and muscle weakness. Sarcopenia was identified in a small proport ion of the patients. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Experimental, comparative, duplex mapping study of arterial flow distribution in ischemia and reperfusion by retrograde circulation
