Reference intervals for serum immunoglobulins G, M and E levels in Brazilian children aged 1 to 10 years: a population-based study
CONCLUSION: RI for serum concentrations of IgG, IgM, and IgE were established for Brazilian children aged 1-10 years. This definition will be useful for Brazilian physicians, who will have more adequate parameters for their clinical decision-making.PMID:38145629 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2023.11.006 (Source: Jornal de Pediatria)

Epidemiological indicators and predictors of lethality associated with fungal infections in a NICU: an historical series
CONCLUSION: These findings highlight the elevated lethality rate associated with these infections, reinforcing the importance of developing strategies to control FI within NICU.PMID:38145630 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2023.11.005 (Source: Jornal de Pediatria)

Linezolid and vancomycin for nosocomial infections in pediatric patients: a systematic review
CONCLUSION: Both linezolid and vancomycin showed good efficacy in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by resistant Gram-positive bacteria in hospitalized children. However, linezolid stands out regarding its pharmacological safety. Importantly, to strengthen this conclusion, further clinical trials are needed to provide additional evidence.PMID:38145631 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2023.08.011 (Source: Jornal de Pediatria)

Transgenerational transmission of eating habits
CONCLUSIONS: Eating habits are transmitted from parents to children in different ways: environmental, emotional, social, and educational. In cases of obesity, a greater association of genetic influence can be observed.PMID:38142715 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2023.11.007 (Source: Jornal de Pediatria)

Upper and lower limb bone mass accrual in adolescent footballers across a short period of training and competition
CONCLUSION: Systematic football training, even during the growth spurt, has a positive impact on adolescent bone markers despite the accumulated training load and maturation.PMID:38103576 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2023.07.010 (Source: Jornal de Pediatria)
