Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor–Associated Myositis: A Distinct Form of Inflammatory Myopathy
Research on the relationship between inflammatory myopathy and malignancy has grown considerably within the last century. Now, the burgeoning field of inflammatory myopathy has yet another player in the mix: immune checkpoint inhibitor–associated myositis (ICI myositis). Immune checkpoint inhibitor–associated myositis is indicated by clinical diagnosis of inflammatory myopathy after initiation of immune checkpoint inhibitor for cancer management. Current literature reflects low prevalence but high mortality associated with ICI myositis, especially when involving myasthenia gravis and myocarditis. Immune checkpoint inhi...

Analysis of Serbian Primary Antiphospholipid Syndrome Patients Confirmed a Strong Association Between Livedo Reticularis and Arterial Thrombosis: A National Cross-Sectional Cohort Study
Conclusion
This cross-sectional analysis of a large cohort of Serbian PAPS patients confirmed a strong relationship between livedo reticularis and arterial thrombosis, suggesting a more cautious approach regarding the presence of noncriteria manifestations, especially livedo reticularis, in APS. Rheumatology Clinic Staff Needs: Barriers and Strategies to Addressing High Blood Pressure and Smoking Risk
Conclusions
Our study identified generalizable gaps in rheumatology staff's work processes and competencies for addressing high BP and smoking in patients. Future efforts to support staff needs should target (1) systems for follow-up within and outside the clinic and (2) conversation support tools. (Source: JCR: Journal of Clinical Rheumatology)

Ramipril Improves Endothelial Function and Increases the Number of Endothelial Progenitor Cells in Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Background/Objectives
Endothelial dysfunction and reduced number of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in peripheral blood are contributing factors to cardiovascular disease in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. Endothelial progenitor cell proliferation is regulated by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors reduce cardiovascular mortality in patients with coronary heart disease.
Methods
This was a randomized trial including 37 female SLE patients without cardiovascular risk factors allocated into 2 groups: 19 patients received ramipril 10 mg/d for 12 weeks ...

A Safety Analysis of Programmed Death 1 Pathway Inhibitors in Patients With Solid Tumor Malignancies and Preexisting Autoimmune Disease
Conclusions
These results suggest that pembrolizumab and nivolumab can be safely administered in patients with controlled preexisting autoimmune diseases without a significant increase in irAE compared with patients without autoimmune diseases. Inclusion of patients with preexisting autoimmune diseases in prospective clinical trials is warranted. (Source: JCR: Journal of Clinical Rheumatology)

Impact of Perceived Stress During the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic on Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients' Disease Activity: An Online Survey
Conclusions
This study suggests that stress overall negatively impacts RAPID3, and Black RA patients had a higher RAPID3 scores during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite colossal efforts to combat the pandemic, RA patients currently suffer from stress/anxiety, and methods to mitigate these psychological effects are needed. Ambulatory Blood Pressure Patterns in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Childhood-Onset Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Normal Office Blood Pressure
Conclusion
Our data provide evidence of high prevalence of nondipping and masked HTN in patients with cSLE, even in patients without LN. Identifying ABPM abnormalities in these patients could potentially improve outcomes. (Source: JCR: Journal of Clinical Rheumatology)
