The impact of glucocorticoid use on the outcomes of rheumatoid arthritis in a multicenter ultrasound cohort study
ConclusionRA patients treated with glucocorticoids had a higher disease activity at baseline and a poorer response to treatments with b/tsDMARDs than those without glucocorticoids. The states of patients requiring glucocorticoids might be associated with the poor response to the b/tsDMARDs. (Source: International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases)

The role of microbiota on rheumatoid arthritis onset
AbstractRheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and pain, which can lead to the loss of normal joint function. Although the exact cause of the disease is not yet fully understood, both environmental factors and genetics may play a role in its development. Moreover, research suggests microbiota contributes to the onset and progression of RA. People with RA show higher quantities of bacteria such asPorphyromonas gingivalis,Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans,Prevotella copri,Proteus mirabilis, andLactobacillus salivarius compared to healthy individuals. Conversely, studies propose...

Successful treatment of PASS syndrome with IVIG and anti ‐IL‐1 treatment: A case report
AbstractPASS syndrome is a rare autoinflammatory disease characterized by acne vulgaris, hidradenitis suppurativa, pyoderma gangrenosum, and ankylosing spondylitis. Unlike other autoinflammatory disorders such as PAPA and PASH syndrome, there is no documented gene mutation link. Although there are no established treatment guidelines due to the rarity of these diseases, systemic corticosteroids, biologics, and immunosuppressive drugs are used currently. In our report, we presented a case of PASS syndrome who was unresponsive to adalimumab and in whom we observed improvement in both skin and joint manifestations with intrave...

Unveiling the age ‐related dynamics in Sjögren's syndrome: Insights from heart rate variability and autonomic function
ConclusionThis study demonstrates significant autonomic dysfunction in pSS patients compared to healthy controls, particularly in those positive for both salivary gland biopsy and autoantibodies. The age-stratified analysis further emphasizes the impact of aging on autonomic system functioning in pSS, suggesting a need for age-specific management approaches in pSS patient care. Factors associated with acute anterior uveitis history in patients with axial spondyloarthritis: Results of a longitudinal study
ConclusionsAAU history might be a risk factor for the development of AAU attacks in patients with axSpA. Although TNFi and SLZ were prescribed more frequently to patients with a history of AAU, the effectiveness of these agents in preventing further AAU attacks was not demonstrated.
