Predictive value of image indexes of B-mode and power Doppler sonography on the efficacy of high intensity focused ultrasound ablation for uterine fibroids
CONCLUSIONS: A model with the PDPA/FA for NPV ratio could be used to predict the therapeutic efficacy of HIFU for fibroids.PMID:35654459 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2022.2081734 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Rapid SAR optimization for hyperthermic oncology: combining multi-goal optimization and time-multiplexed steering for hotspot suppression
CONCLUSIONS: The extremely rapid optimization (5 s for TMPS part, on a standard PC) permits closed-loop treatment reoptimization during treatment administration, and empowers physicians with a selection of optimal treatment scenarios reflecting different weighting of conflicting treatment goals.PMID:35654473 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2022.2080284 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Stereotactic radiofrequency ablation as a valid first-line treatment option for hepatocellular adenomas
CONCLUSIONS: Percutaneous thermal ablation is efficient in the treatment of HCAs and may thus be considered a valid first-line treatment option. In addition, SRFA allows for an effective, minimally invasive treatment of large and multiple hepatic tumors within one session.PMID:35654476 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2022.2082562 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Biliary complications and efficacy after ablation of peribiliary tumors using irreversible electroporation (IRE) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
CONCLUSIONS: The IRE and RFA procedures are safe and effective to treat peribiliary liver tumors. However, the RFA may have a higher risk of significant bile duct injury than IRE. The shorter distance between the bile duct and the tumor is a strong risk factor for biliary complications.PMID:35649727 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2022.2079733 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)
