Ultrasound-guided noninvasive pancreas ablation using histotripsy: feasibility study in an < em > in  vivo < /em > porcine model
This study provides initial evidence suggesting histotripsy's potential for noninvasive pancreas ablation and warrants further evaluation in more comprehensive studies.PMID:37643768 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2023.2247187 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Analysis of the results of high-intensity focused ultrasound for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer
CONCLUSION: HIFU is safe and effective for pancreatic cancer treatment, and has the potential to become an important supplement for the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer. This approach needs to be further verified by multi-center and large-sample studies.PMID:37641497 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2023.2250586 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Chemoradiotherapy plus hyperthermia (CRTH) versus chemoradiotherapy (CRT) alone in neoadjuvant treatment of soft tissue sarcoma: tumor response, treatment toxicity and disease control
CONCLUSIONS: Both CRT and CRTH are well tolerated with an expected rate of wound complications. The results suggest that adding hyperthermia may improve tumor response.PMID:37611915 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2023.2248424 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Evaluation of the timing and safety of hysteroscopic myomectomy of large submucosal fibroids pretreated by high intensity focused ultrasound
CONCLUSIONS: HIFU can be used as a pretreatment for large submucosal fibroids before hysteroscopic myomectomy. Based on our results, hysteroscopic myomectomy could be performed at any time point, even within 1 month after HIFU.PMID:37607735 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2023.2249275 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Long-term efficacy and safety of microwave ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma adjacent to the gallbladder with a diameter ≤ 5 cm: a multicenter, propensity score matching study
CONCLUSION: There were comparable long-term efficacy and complications between patients with HCC adjacent and nonadjacent to the gallbladder treated with MWA.PMID:37607775 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2023.2248425 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)

Efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency, microwave and laser ablation for the treatment of T1N0M0 papillary thyroid carcinoma on a large scale: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: RFA, MWA and LA were reliable in curing PTC, and RFA presented advantages in most outcomes. T1aN0M0 patients may experience fewer side effects than T1bN0M0 patients.PMID:37604507 | DOI:10.1080/02656736.2023.2244713 (Source: International Journal of Hyperthermia)
