Extramammary Paget Disease of the Vulva: A Case Series Examining Treatment, Recurrence, and Malignant Transformation
Conclusions Patients with EMPD in this series have a high rate of recurrence. Many undergo multi-modal therapy often with multiple providers. However, patients experience relatively long disease-free intervals with a low rate of associated malignancy. We propose an algorithm for management that focuses on symptom control and minimizing morbidity of treatment intervention once invasive disease has been excluded. The Role of Pathological Margin Distance and Prognostic Factors After Primary Surgery in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Vulva
Conclusion Our data suggest that a more than 2 mm tumor-free margins is associated with better local control. In addition, older age is an independent prognostic factor for survival. (Source: International Journal of Gynecological Cancer)

Recurrent Cancer Is Associated With Dissatisfaction With Care—A Longitudinal Analysis Among Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer Patients
Conclusions After diagnosis of recurrent disease, endometrial and ovarian cancer patients were less satisfied with care compared with patients without a recurrence. Our findings suggest that patients with recurrent cancer are in need of care that is better tailored to their needs. (Source: International Journal of Gynecological Cancer)

Activity Behaviors and Physiological Characteristics of Women With Advanced-Stage Ovarian Cancer: A Preliminary Cross-sectional Investigation
Conclusions Posttreatment OC survivors spent more time in prolonged sedentary bouts and had lower cardiorespiratory fitness and upper body strength compared with controls. Moderate and vigorous physical activity was associated with physical function and muscle cross-sectional area. Future studies should test the efficacy of exercise interventions to increase MVPA, reduce sedentary behavior, and increase cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle strength in OC survivors. When and Who Should Perform Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Surgery?
Epithelial ovarian cancer is the most common cause of death due to gynecologic malignancies. Most patients will be diagnosed at an advanced stage, and despite progress in both surgical procedures and novel targeted therapies, the overall survival of these patients remains very low. Among prognostic factors, the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage and residual tumor after debulking surgery are the most widely reported. The current review aims to highlight the disparities in the treatment of patients with ovarian cancer and the need for postgraduate training programs in order to accredit gynecologic o...

Type I Versus Type II Endometrial Cancer: Differential Impact of Comorbidity
Conclusions Comorbidity is an important prognostic factor in type I as well as in type II EC although the overall prognosis differs significantly between the 2 types of EC. The prognostic impact of comorbidity varies with stage but not with type of EC. (Source: International Journal of Gynecological Cancer)

The Impact of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Program on Patients Treated for Gynecologic Cancer in the Community Hospital Setting
Conclusions The results from our investigation suggest that adhering to an ERAS protocol confers beneficial hospital length of stay and hospital cost outcomes, without compromising patient readmission rates. Additional investigation scrutinizing the impact of ERAS enactment with more defined study variables in a larger, randomized setting is warranted. Prognostic Impact of Pretreatment Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography SUVmax in Patients With Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer
Conclusions We found that T SUVmax, stage, and para-aortic lymph node status assessed by FDG-PET were independent prognostic factors of DFS, whereas only T SUVmax correlated with OS. (Source: International Journal of Gynecological Cancer)

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy, and Brachytherapy Boost Modalities in Invasive Cervical Cancer: A Study of the National Cancer Data Base
Background and Purpose Our objective was to determine whether stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and brachytherapy boost techniques have comparable overall survival in treating cervical cancer when adjusted for known prognostic factors. Materials and Methods We used the National Cancer Database to study women with invasive cervical cancer who were treated with radiation between 2004 and 2013. A logistic regression model was built to identify factors associated with the receipt of SBRT and IMRT. Outcomes were compared using Kaplan-Meier and propensity score matching. R...

Differential Expression of MicroRNAs in Uterine Cervical Cancer and Its Implications in Carcinogenesis; An Integrative Approach
Conclusions The study identified that high-risk HPV induces similar carcinogenic mechanism irrespective of HPV type. The miRNA signature of cervical cancer and their target genes were also elucidated, thereby providing a better insight into the molecular mechanism underlying cervical cancer development. Phagocytosis of Extracellular Vesicles Extruded From the Placenta by Ovarian Cancer Cells Inhibits Growth of the Cancer Cells
Conclusions Our data demonstrated that EVs extruded from the placenta prevented ovarian cancer cell growth by a mechanism that involved delaying progression of the cell cycle after phagocytosis of the EVs. (Source: International Journal of Gynecological Cancer)

Administration of Cabergoline Contributes to Preserving Fertility in Young Hyperprolactinemic Patients With Endometrial Cancer Treated With Medroxyprogesterone Acetate
Background An association between high levels of serum prolactin and endometrial cancer (EC) has been reported. However, the effect of antiprolactin drugs on hyperprolactinemic patients with EC has not been determined. The aim of this study was to confirm the effect of cabergoline on young hyperprolactinemic patients treated with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) for the preservation of fertility. Methods A retrospective observational study was conducted to identify patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia or early-stage EC aged 40 years or younger who were treated with oral MPA in Kumamoto University Hospital b...

Disease-Free and Survival Outcomes for Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Compared With Total Abdominal Hysterectomy in Early-Stage Endometrial Carcinoma: A Meta-analysis
Conclusions Noninferiority of laparoscopy was demonstrated on clinical outcomes and was associated with a reduction in postoperative complications. These results support continued treatment by laparoscopic hysterectomy for early-stage endometrial cancer. (Source: International Journal of Gynecological Cancer)
