Helicobacter pylori infection and pre-eclampsia in a Romanian study group
It has been suggested that Helicobacter pylori infection could contribute to the etiopathogenesis of pre-eclampsia by inducing a pro-inflammatory state [1]. Constitutional developments in Latin American abortion law
For most of the 20th Century, restrictive abortion laws were in place in continental Latin America. In recent years, reforms have caused a liberalizing shift, supported by constitutional decisions of the countries ’ high courts. The present article offers an overview of the turn toward more liberal rules and the resolution of abortion disputes by reference to national constitutions. For such purpose, the main legal changes of abortion laws in the last decade are first surveyed. Landmark decisions of the hig h courts of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, and Mexico are then analyzed. Tunisian experience of low-cost self-created transobturator tape for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence
The transobturator approach for the management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) using tension-free vaginal tape has gained popularity worldwide owing to its simplicity and low morbidity. However, the high cost of commercial tape strips is a significant limitation to their use; in Tunisia, the price of strips can reach €340. To reduce costs, the aim of the present study was to develop a self-created mesh sling (SCMS) from polyethylene mesh and to investigate outcomes of using it in the surgical treatment of SUI.
