Parallel transverse uterine incisions to control postpartum hemorrhage and preserve fertility during cesarean delivery for placenta previa and accreta
Placenta previa and accreta are life-threatening conditions among women who have had a previous cesarean delivery. The most important complication is massive hemorrhage at the time of delivery, which can result in a need for hysterectomy and even maternal death [1]. In the current report, a novel technique using parallel transverse uterine incisions during cesarean delivery is presented that could effectively control bleeding and preserve the uterus among patients with placenta previa and accreta.
