Log odds of positive lymph nodes show better predictive performance on the prognosis of early-onset colorectal cancer
ConclusionsLODDS shows better predictive performance than N stage or LNR among patients with EOCRC. Novel validated nomograms based on LODDS could effectively provide more prognostic information than the TNM staging system. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Patients younger than 40  years with colorectal cancer have a similar prognosis to older patients
ConclusionsYounger patients with CRC have a prognosis equivalent to that of older patients. Further studies are needed to establish the optimal treatment strategies for these patients. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Evaluating the oncological safety of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced colon carcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised clinical trials and propensity-matched studies
ConclusionThis study highlights the oncological safety of NAC for patients being treated with curative intent for LACC using RCT and propensity-matched studies only. These results refute current management guidelines which do not advocate for NAC to improve surgical and oncological outcomes in patients with LACC.Trial registrationInternational Prospective Register of Systematic Review (PROSPERO) registration: CRD4202341723. Which video technology brings the higher cognitive burden and motion sickness in laparoscopic colorectal surgery: 3D, 2D-4  K or 3D-4 K? a propensity score study
Conclusions3D and 3D-4  K systems, when compared with 2D-4 K video technology, have a higher risk for slight/moderate general discomfort and eyestrain, but show lower difficulty focusing. Short post-operative outcomes do not differ, whichever imaging system is used. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Sacral neuromodulation for low anterior resection syndrome: current status —a systematic review and meta-analysis
Discussion/conclusionThis is the largest systematic review and meta-analysis concerning the use of SNM in LARS patients. The findings support the available evidence that sacral neuromodulation can be effective in the treatment of LARS, with significant improvement in total incontinent episodes and patients ´ quality of life. The relationship between the severity of inflammatory bowel diseases and expirium air carbon monoxide levels
ConclusionUC severity decreased with higher E-CO levels and the mean number of cigarettes smoked, while CD severity increased in line with the mean number of cigarettes smoked. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Predictors of outcome for treatment of enterovaginal fistula
ConclusionEnterovaginal fistulas are a result of various etiologies, and treatment should be adjusted accordingly. A very sustainable, rapid, and persistent therapeutic success can be expected after radical surgical approaches with temporary diverting stoma. This is especially true for postoperatively derived fistulas. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)
