Survival outcome of local versus radical resection for jejunoileal gastrointestinal stromal tumors: a propensity score-matched population-based analysis
ConclusionsWe conducted the first population-based comparison between the effect of different surgical modes on survival for patients with JI GISTs. LR can be carried out safely without compromising oncological outcome, and should be considered as a treatment option in selected patients with JI GISTs. Preoperative screening and prehabilitation strategies prior to ileocolic resection in patients with Crohn ’s disease are not incorporated in routine care
ConclusionPS are not routinely applied and not individually tailored in the preoperative setting prior to elective ICR in patients with CD. Prior to implementation, future research on the costs and effectiveness of PS on postoperative outcomes and quality of life is necessary. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Quality of life after prophylactic surgery for colorectal adenomatous polyposis
ConclusionQuality of life following prophylactic surgery for these patients seems to be good when indirectly compared to HP-normative samples ’. Young adult patients appear to quickly manage and adapt to changes in bowel functioning. A minority of patients may experience social and sexual issues.
