Prognostic factors in patients with high-risk stage II colon cancer after curative resection: a post hoc analysis of the JFMC46-1201 trial
ConclusionThis study showed that gender, depth of tumor invasion, extent of lymph node dissection, number of examined lymph nodes, and lack of use of POAC were significant independent prognostic factors in stage II colon cancer. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Comparing continent ileostomy (CI) conversion to repair/redo IPAA: favorable outcomes
ConclusionWhen complications or failure of IPAA occur, conversion to CI emerges as a highly viable alternative to repair/redo IPAA. This conclusion is supported by the observation that patient satisfaction appears to be closely tied to stable surgical outcomes. To reinforce these findings, further prospective studies are warranted. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)

Evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging in distinguishing strictures in Crohn ’s disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsThe results of this meta-analysis underscore the robust diagnostic accuracy of MRI in detecting fibrotic strictures, distinguishing between fibrotic and inflammatory strictures, and evaluating stricture severity in CD patients. These findings support the integration of MRI into standard diagnostic protocols for patients with CD. Further large-scale, multicenter trials are warranted to confirm these results and to identify any potential limitations associated with the application of MRI in this clinical setting. Comparative study using propensity score matching analysis in patients undergoing surgery for colorectal cancer with or without multimodal prehabilitation
ConclusionsThe postoperative complication rate and LOS were similar between patients who receive operative multimodal prehabilitation for CRC surgery and those who did not. Prehabilitation was associated with reduced risk of postoperative complication after multivariate log binomial regression adjusted for complications. Patients who underwent prehabilitation had a slightly lower tendency for postoperative ER visits and hospital readmissions. (Source: International Journal of Colorectal Disease)
