Radiographic predictors of occult intracranial involvement in olfactory neuroblastoma patients
Conclusions: Both CT and MRI had reasonably good NPV for involvement of dura and olfactory bulb. Higher Hyam's grade was associated with dural involvement. Patients with low-grade tumors not involving the skull base may be suitable for avoiding skull base resection, however further investigation is warranted. This article is protected by copyright. Orbital Resection by Intranasal Technique (ORBIT): A new classification system for reporting endoscopically resectable primary benign orbital tumors
Conclusion: Endoscopic treatment of PBOTs is an effective approach, with favorable short- and long-term post-operative outcomes as well as low rate of adverse events. The ORBIT classification system is an anatomic-based framework that effectively facilitates high-quality outcomes reporting for all PBOTs.This article is protected by copyright. Chronic intranasal corticosteroid treatment induces degeneration of olfactory sensory neurons in normal and allergic rhinitis mice
Conclusion: Our results suggest that chronic intranasal corticosteroid treatment contributes to OSN degeneration that may reduce the therapeutic effectiveness for AR-related olfactory loss. This article is protected by copyright. Biological sex as a modulator in rhinologic anatomy, physiology, and pathology: A scoping review
ConclusionsAlthough many sex-based differences exist in rhinology, further research is necessary to offer evidence-based treatment guidelines. Gonadal hormones should be studied as a therapeutic in rhinologic pathology as baseline physiologic differences exist such as those found in nasal mucosa receptor density. Simvastatin as a topical anti ‐inflammatory: effect on airway epithelial cell homeostasis
Conclusion: Evidence supports managing CRS in individuals with CRSwA in a stepwise fashion, starting with traditional non-biologic oral and topical medication, and escalating to second-line treatments, such as ESS and biologics. Optimal treatment of individuals who suffer from CRSwA often requires concurrent, directed management of asthma, as not all CRS interventions impact asthma status. This article is protected by copyright.
