Mir ‐200a‐3p regulates epithelial‐mesenchymal transition and inflammation in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps by targeting zeb1 via erk/p38 pathway
ConclusionsMiR-200a-3p suppresses EMT and inflammation by regulating the expression of ZEB1 via the ERK/P38 pathway. Our study provides new ideas for protecting nasal epithelial cells from tissue remodeling and finding a possible target for disease. This article is protected by copyright. Challenges to medication adherence with intranasal corticosteroid irrigations
Conclusion: Adherence to corticosteroid irrigations was low and patients underreported issues with their medication. Education and barriers to care were associated with lower adherence which, in turn, was associated with worse sinonasal quality of life. This article is protected by copyright. Olfaction, BMI, and quality of life with cystic fibrosis combination therapy
ConclusionOur results support the impression that ETI therapy improves CF-associated rhinologic symptoms and reverses OI, while contributing to improvement in rhinologic QoL. Sense of smell is not an independent mediator of improved QoL and BMI in this population, suggesting that other factors may have a stronger role in these realms. However, given the subjective improvement in sense of smell, additional evaluation of OI using psychophysical chemosensory assessment will clarify the connection between olfaction, BMI, and QoL in PwCF.This article is protected by copyright. Evaluation and Treatment of Rhinosinusitis with Primary Antibody Deficiency in Adults: Evidence ‐Based Review with Recommendations
Conclusion: Based on the currently available evidence, PAD can occur in up to 50% of patients with recalcitrant CRS. Despite presence of multiple studies addressing rhinosinusitis and PAD, the level of evidence supporting different treatment options continues to be lacking. Optimal management require multidisciplinary approach through collaboration with clinical immunology. There is need for higher level studies that compare different treatments in patients with PAD and rhinosinusitis. This article is protected by copyright.
