Coablator-Assisted Excision of an Obstructing Mass in Congenital Hemifacial Hypertrophy
AbstractA case of congenital hemifacial hypertrophy is described. This rare condition is more prevalent in males, and it is characterized by facial asymmetry. Sometimes, Hemifacial hypertrophy can lead to obstruction of the respiratory airway which may prove lethal. Here we made an attempt to present a complicated female case of true congenital hemifacial hypertrophy with its clinical, radiological presentation and surgical treatment. No single theory for hemifacial hypertrophy explains the etiology adequately. A 19-month-old female child was referred to our hospital with difficulty in breathing. She had Hemifacial hypertr...

Unveiling the Rarity: A Fascinating Case of Chondro-Osseous Respiratory Epithelial Adenomatoid Hamartoma (COREAH) in the Sinonasal Tract
AbstractChondro-osseous respiratory adenomatoid hamartoma (COREAH) are extremely rare benign lesions of the sinonasal tract. It is present in 3 to 83-year-olds. It originates from various sites of the sinonasal tract; the most common site is the posterior lateral wall of the nasal cavity. Imaging calcification is an important finding in COREAH. In this case report, we present an exceptionally rare occurrence involving a 55-year-old female patient who exhibited symptoms of nasal obstruction, bleeding from the left side of the nasal cavity and loss of smell. We aim to share our experience in managing this unique condition. D...

Effectiveness of Adenoidectomy as a Standalone Procedure in Improving the Quality of Life of Children with Obstructive Sleep Apnea
AbstractAdenoid hypertrophy (AH) and its sequel like nasal obstruction, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), recurrent rhinitis and middle ear disorders are common diseases of pediatric age group, forming the major bulk of pediatric outpatient visits. The recommended approach to treating OSA in children is through adenotonsillectomy. Adenoidectomy is the surgical procedure of removal of hypertrophied adenoid tissues, which is the most common surgery performed by Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeons. Given that adenoidectomy alone might lead to reduced instances of adverse outcomes, decreased risk of complications, and lower exp...
