Prevalence of cardiac abnormalities and heart failure in unselected out-patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and associated clinical factors: Real-world evidence from an Indian registry
CONCLUSION: Real-world data from this registry from India demonstrates a substantial burden of LV dysfunction and HF in individuals with T2DM in India. It is imperative to formulate strategies for early identification of LV dysfunction in individuals with T2DM for prevention and consequent management of HF.PMID:37884126 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2023.10.003 (Source: Indian Heart J)

Outcomes of chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary intervention from the RAIAN (RAjaie - Iran) registry
CONCLUSIONS: No significant differences of in-hospital and one-year MACE were found between the successful and unsuccessful groups. Angina symptoms and quality of life significantly improved after successful CTO PCI. The RAIAN registry confirmed the importance of operator expertise for CTO PCI success.PMID:37866775 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2023.10.002 (Source: Indian Heart J)

Independent prognostic value of high-risk ventricular premature complexes during exercise or recovery in asymptomatic patients: A meta-analysis of observational studies
CONCLUSION: High-risk VPCs during exercise is associated with increased risk of all-cause and CV mortality, while those during recovery are associated with an increased risk of CV mortality only.PMID:37858721 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2023.10.001 (Source: Indian Heart J)

"Subclinical right ventricular dysfunction in patients with asymptomatic type 2 diabetes mellitus: A cross-sectional study"
CONCLUSION: Diabetes mellitus is associated with subclinical systolic as well as diastolic RV dysfunction. In addition to helping identify people at high risk, the early recognition of RV dysfunction gives us a window of opportunity to take action and slow down the disease's course. This study emphasizes that the early identification of RV diastolic as well as systolic dysfunction in asymptomatic Type 2 diabetic patients can be a helpful tool in halting the progression of disease from subclinical to frank clinical cases, thereby preventing the morbidity and mortality associated with heart failure. Hence, it adds value to t...
