Betulinic Acid Potentiates Mast Cell Degranulation by Compromising Cell Membrane Integrity and Without Involving Fc εri Receptors
Immunol Invest. 2024 Mar 19:1-17. doi: 10.1080/08820139.2024.2329990. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMast cells play important role in acquired and natural immunity making these favorable therapeutic targets in various inflammatory diseases. Here we observed that, pentacyclic tri terpenoid betulinic acid (BA) treatment resulted in a significantly high number (9%) of cells positive for Hoechst and negative for annexin-V indicating that BA could interfere with plasma membrane integrity. The degranulation of both activated and non-activated mast cells was enhanced upon treatment with BA. The pre-treatment of BA had remarkable ...

Role of Platelet/Lymphocyte, Neutrophil/Lymphocyte, and Interleukin-37/Interleukin-17 Ratios in the Occurrence and Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis
This study was designed to investigate the correlation of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and interleukin (IL)-37/IL-17 ratio with the incidence/treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Firstly, fifty-eight patients with RA treated at the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2018 to January 2019 were selected as the RA group; forty-nine healthy volunteers were enrolled in the control group. RA patients were treated with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). Next, the NLR, PLR, IL-37, IL-17 and 28-joint disease activity score using erythrocyte se...

Mogroside Ⅴ Inhibits M1 Polarization and Inflammation of Diabetic Mouse Macrophages via p38 MAPK/NF-Κb Signaling Pathway
CONCLUSIONS: MV suppressed M1 macrophage polarization and inflammatory response, which was partially through NF-κB and p38 MAPK in LPS+IFN-γ induced BMDMs under high glucose condition, implying the potential of MV in treatment for inflammatory complications of diabetes.PMID:38415803 | DOI:10.1080/08820139.2024.2321353 (Source: Immunological Investigations)
