Long ‐term outcome of stereotactic body radiotherapy for patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma
ConclusionsStereotactic body radiotherapy was effective for patients with small hepatocellular carcinomas who were ineligible for resection or ablation therapies. The incidence of grade 3 or higher adverse effects did not increase even after longer follow‐up times. (Source: Hepatology Research)

Meta ‐analysis of laparoscopic versus open liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma
ConclusionCompared to OH, LH is superior to reduce the intraoperative blood loss and blood transfusion, to expand the pathologic resection margins and increase R0 resection rate and to shorter length of hospital stay. LH has similar OS, DFS and the recurrence with OH. (Source: Hepatology Research)

“a promising medium‐term follow‐up of pediatric sclerosing cholangitis: mild phenotype or early diagnosis?”
ConclusionsIn our early‐diagnosed population, the 9‐year survival with native liver was better than what reported in other studies. About 15% of patients developed liver‐related disease complications, less than previous reports. Long‐term course of SC was negatively influenced by the presence of autoimmune features but not by concomitant IBD. (Source: Hepatology Research)

Cost ‐effectiveness analyses of anti‐HCV treatments using QOL scoring among patients with chronic liver disease in the Hiroshima prefecture
ConclusionsDAA treatment was estimated to be cost‐effective from 10 to 25 years after treatment, depending on the SVR rate of the drugs and the age of onset of treatment. In order to increase cost‐effectiveness of DAA treatment, measures or effort to improve the QOL score of patients after SVR are necessary. (Source: Hepatology Research)
