Does post-dilatation during angiography-guided percutaneous coronary intervention improve clinical outcomes? - results of systematical patient outcome monitoring
CONCLUSIONS: A liberal post-dilatation strategy after PCI was associated with a significant decrease in 30-day MACE, 30-day MI, 30-day mortality and 1-year mortality. Future studies are warranted to validate the causality between post-dilatation and improvement of clinical outcomes.PMID:37979617 | DOI:10.1016/j.hjc.2023.11.004 (Source: Hellenic Journal of Cardiology)

Prognostic impact of diabetes mellitus on in-hospital mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicating renal dysfunction according to age and sex
CONCLUSIONS: There were significant differences in the prognostic impact of DM on in-hospital mortality between young and old as well as male and female patients with AMI complicating RD. These results have implications for future research and the management of patients with DM, RD, and AMI comorbidities.PMID:37956769 | DOI:10.1016/j.hjc.2023.11.002 (Source: Hellenic Journal of Cardiology)

Pretreatment antithrombotic strategies in non-ST elevation acute coronary syndromes in contemporaneous clinical practice
CONCLUSION: NSTE-ACS patients pretreated with SAPT had worse in-hospital outcomes. This difference can be probably explained by a delay in time until revascularization. Pretreatment DAPT strategy and crossover between heparins is still frequently used in clinical practice.PMID:37956770 | DOI:10.1016/j.hjc.2023.11.003 (Source: Hellenic Journal of Cardiology)
