Helicobacter pylori antimicrobial resistance during a 5 ‐year period (2013‐2017) in northern Spain and its relationship with the eradication therapies
ConclusionsThe implementation of susceptibility ‐guided triple therapy for 10 days leads to eradication rate ≥95% in naïve patients withH.  pylori resistance to one or two families of antimicrobials. In na ïve patients withH.  pylori resistance to three families, OAR treatment achieved a 90% of eradication. (Source: Helicobacter)

Prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection among junior high school students in Grudziadz, Poland
ConclusionsOver the past 10  years, the prevalence ofH.  pylori infection in Polish adolescents has decreased.H.  pylori infection remains problem closely associated with socioeconomic and sanitary conditions. Our results are important to develop prevention strategies forH.  pylori‐related diseases. (Source: Helicobacter)

Review of antimicrobial peptides with anti ‐Helicobacter pylori activity
ConclusionAntimicrobial peptides with anti ‐H.  pylori effects have the potential to replace the antibiotics, especially in the post ‐antibiotic era, if a rapid and low‐cost production method would be found. (Source: Helicobacter)

Evaluation of gastric microbiome and metagenomic function in patients with intestinal metaplasia using 16S rRNA gene sequencing
ConclusionsThe relative abundance of Rhizobiales was higher in patients withH. pylori ‐negative IM than in those withH. pylori ‐negative CSG or cancer. Additionally, T4SS genes were highly observed in the metagenome of patients with IM. Highly abundant T4SS proteins in these patients may promote gastric carcinogenesis. (Source: Helicobacter)

Relative potency of proton ‐pump inhibitors, Helicobacter pylori therapy cure rates, and meaning of double‐dose PPI
ConclusionsSimply doubling the dose of any PPI achieves markedly different effects on pH4 ‐time. However, PPIs can be used interchangeably and cost effectively based on their omeprazole equivalency. (Source: Helicobacter)

Halitosis: Helicobacter pylori or oral factors
ConclusionsAccording to the results of this study, there is a relation between oral factors and halitosis in patients with positiveH.  pylori test. Due to the lower level of all these indices in patients with halitosis, we cannot attribute halitosis in patients withH.  pylori infection to the presence of this microorganism with certainty. High ‐risk symptoms do not predict gastric cancer precursors
ConclusionsPerformance of upper endoscopy for high ‐risk indications is inadequate to detect GIM and marginal for malignancy. At risk patients should undergo upper endoscopy for both low‐ and high‐risk symptoms. Screening certain populations deserve additional study and may, in fact, be cost‐effective.
