Demystifying the Digital Divide: Disparities in Telerehabilitation Readiness Among Older Adults in the United States
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings highlight significant disparities in the readiness to uptake video-based telerehabilitation. Policy and practice interventions to address telerehabilitation readiness should focus not only on improving broadband access but also on technology ownership and training to ensure equitable adoption in populations with lower baseline readiness.PMID:38554795 | DOI:10.1016/j.apmr.2024.03.009 (Source: Health Physics)

Effects of trunk stabilization exercises on balance, functionality and abdominal muscle thickness in hemiplegic patients
CONCLUSION: Both the TSE and conventional neurorehabilitation program provided significant improvements in abdominal muscle thickness, balance and trunk control. For postural control and functionality, additional TSE seems to be more effective.PMID:38549825 | PMC:PMC10966749 | DOI:10.5606/tftrd.2024.13209 (Source: Health Physics)

The epidemiology of osteoporosis in T ürkiye: A comprehensive analysis using the e-Nabız database
CONCLUSION: Registry studies provide reliable information in epidemiological studies. In this study, the first of its kind in Türkiye, we reported the geographical distribution of osteoporosis. As expected, there were more osteoporosis patients in the more densely populated areas of the country. Secondary and tertiary care centers had more entries compared to primary care centers. The annual incidence of osteoporosis showed a declining trend over the years.PMID:38549827 | PMC:PMC10966748 | DOI:10.5606/tftrd.2024.13505 (Source: Health Physics)

Comprehensive beam delivery latency evaluation for gated proton therapy system using customized multi-channel signal acquisition platform
CONCLUSION: With the developed multi-channel signal acquisition platform, it was able to investigate the gating lags happened in both the respiratory gating system and the proton treatment system. The resolution of the platform is enough to distinguish the delays at the millisecond time level. Both the respiratory gating system and the proton treatment system made contributions to gating latency. Both systems contributed nearly equally to the total beam ON latency, with approximately 100 ms. In contrast, the respiratory gating system was the dominant contributor to the total beam OFF latency.PMID:38551392 | DOI:10.1002/acm...

Evidence-based recommendations for the rehabilitation and management of the ageing population with spinal cord injury: a systematic review of clinical practice guidelines
CONCLUSIONS: There is a notable lack of high-quality ageing-related recommendations for SCI management and rehabilitation.
