Early detection of dementia using artificial intelligence and multimodal features with a focus on neuroimaging: A systematic literature review
ConclusionsThe main findings of the study were that Alzheimer ’s disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) are the most researched dementia types in the field; typical choice for dementia detection is Machine Learning (ML) methods; the most popular modalities combination is T1w + Fluorodeoxyglucose - Positron Emission Tomography (FDG-PET); accuracy, sensit ivity and specificity are the main evaluation metrics used by the researchers; k-fold validation is being used the most; Alzheimer’s disease neuroimaging initiative (ADNI) is the most used dataset by researchers; intensity and spacial normalization, skull stripping...

Multiple thoracic diseases detection from X-rays using CX-Ultranet
ConclusionThe proposed CX-Ultranet achieves superior overall accuracy and effectively addresses imbalanced classes within the dataset. Furthermore, it significantly reduces the duration of network training in relation to FLOPS, thereby establishing a novel benchmark in the field of CXR-based disease diagnosis. Awareness and knowledge on breast cancer screening among reproductive aged women in some parts of Ghana
ConclusionIn conclusion, despite the high awareness level of breast cancer screening examination of approximately 84%, practice of any of the known screening methods were just about 10%. We therefore recommend educational and health policies targeted at behavioral change that will stimulate a positive attitude to breast cancer screening practices. Additionally, efforts should be made by government and other stakeholders in healthcare to design targeted policies and improve public education techniques to promote the practice of breast cancer screening among women in Ghana. Telemedicine and implanted brain stimulation devices: a review of legal issues
ConclusionsRemote programming of DBS offers many important advantages in improving access to care, reducing travel risks, and improving efficiency for patients, caregivers and clinicians. At the same time, this will involve modification of implanted devices influencing patient physiology as well as the exchange of significant amounts of information that bear upon patients ’ physiological states. As a result, important ethical and legal questions should be considered in the development and deployment of remote DBS programming platforms. (Source: Health and Technology)

Analyzing third-party data leaks on online pharmacy websites
ConclusionsWe hope that these concerning results will serve as a wake-up call for the developers and maintainers of online pharmacies and other web services processing sensitive data. Any third-party services incorporated into websites processing sensitive personal data should be closely inspected in terms of data leaks, or preferably not used at all.
