Long-term Follow-up and Safety of Patients after an Upfront Therapy with Letrozole for Early Breast Cancer in Routine Clinical Care - The PreFace Study
CONCLUSIONS: The risk profile of postmenopausal BC patients selected for a five-year upfront letrozole therapy showed a moderate recurrence and death risk. However, in subgroups with unfavorable risk factors, prognosis warrants an improvement, which might be achieved with novel targeted therapies.PMID:38344045 | PMC:PMC10853028 | DOI:10.1055/a-2238-3153 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)

Treatment in Certified Breast Cancer Centers Improves Chances of Survival of Patients with Breast Cancer: Evidence Based on Health Care Data from the WiZen Study
CONCLUSIONS: Patients who are treated by an interdisciplinary team in a DKG-certified breast cancer had clear and statistically significantly better survival rates. Certification is therefore an effective means of improving the quality of care, and more patients should be treated in certified breast cancer centers.PMID:38344046 | PMC:PMC10853029 | DOI:10.1055/a-1869-1772 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)

Identification of Patients with Early HR+ HER2- Breast Cancer at High Risk of Recurrence
Geburtshilfe Frauenheilkd. 2024 Feb 8;84(2):164-184. doi: 10.1055/a-2238-3199. eCollection 2024 Feb.ABSTRACTBreast cancer incidence has increased in the last two decades and, simultaneously, survival has improved due to earlier detection and improved treatment options. Despite this improvement, locoregional recurrences and distant metastases occur in up to 10 and 30% of women diagnosed with early breast cancer, respectively. Around 70% of breast cancers are hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HER2-), and associated with a persistent risk of relapse up to 20 years after diagno...

Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy and its Management with the Dual-Release Formulation of Doxylamine and Pyridoxine
Geburtshilfe Frauenheilkd. 2024 Feb 8;84(2):144-152. doi: 10.1055/a-2225-5883. eCollection 2024 Feb.ABSTRACTNausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP) is among the most common conditions that pregnant women encounter in the early stages of pregnancy. It can affect up to 85% of pregnant women, thus representing a significant public health concern. NVP results in substantial negative physical, emotional, and financial consequences. Despite its prevalence, the pathogenesis remains elusive. Few guidelines have been published; however, several interventions exist for the symptomatic treatment of NVP. The aim of this review is to pr...
