Post-ERCP cholecystitis: Incidence, characteristics, and outcomes from a prospective multicenter biliary endoscopy registry
The incidence, risk factors, and outcomes of post-ERCP cholecystitis are poorly described. We aimed to describe cases of post-ERCP cholecystitis from a prospective multicenter registry with protocolized 30-day follow-up. (Source: Gastrointestinal Endoscopy)

Outcomes of Cold Snare Endoscopic Mucosal Resection of Nonampullary Duodenal Adenomas ≥1 cm: A Multicenter Study
Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) with use of electrocautery (conventional EMR) has historically been used to remove large duodenal adenomas, however, use of electrocautery can predispose to adverse events including delayed bleeding and perforation. Cold snare EMR (cs-EMR) has been shown to be safe and effective for removal of colon polyps, but data regarding its use in the duodenum is limited. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of cs-EMR for nonampullary duodenal adenomas ≥1 cm. (Source: Gastrointestinal Endoscopy)

Does successful EUS-guided pancreatic cyst chemoablation safely allow reduction in the frequency of radiographic surveillance? Long-term follow-up of randomized prospective data.
EUS-guided pancreatic cyst chemoablation is safe and effective for appropriately selected patients; however, the proper frequency of radiographic surveillance after successful chemoablation is unknown. Here we report the long-term follow-up of two randomized, prospective, ChARM clinical trials. Additionally, the performance of a post-ablation reduced radiographic surveillance protocol was evaluated using clinical and economic outcomes and patient experience metrics. Acidification of the esophagus in post-peroral endoscopic myotomy achalasia patients: all that glitters is not gold
Esophageal achalasia is a rare but debilitating motility disorder mainly characterized by the failure of the lower esophageal sphincter to relax during swallowing, leading to symptoms such as dysphagia, regurgitation, chest pain, and weight loss. The true prevalence of esophageal achalasia remains unclear because of the variability of reported cases across different populations. However, estimates suggest an incidence of 1 in 100,000 individuals annually. Over the years, medications such as nitrates and calcium channel blockers, pneumatic dilation of the cardia, and Heller myotomy have been used to manage esophageal achala...

A novel blood-sensing capsule for rapid detection of upper GI bleeding: a prospective clinical trial
Upper GI bleeding (UGIB) is a common medical emergency associated with high resource utilization, morbidity, and mortality. Timely EGD can be challenging from personnel, resource, and access perspectives. PillSense (EnteraSense Ltd, Galway, Ireland) is a novel swallowed bleeding sensor for the detection of UGIB, anticipated to aid in patient triage and guide clinical decision-making for individuals with suspected UGIB. Braided-type stent versus laser-cut-type stent for patients with unresectable distal malignant biliary obstruction: a randomized controlled trial
Fully covered self-expandable metallic stents (SEMS) are laser-cut (L) or braided (B); however, which is more effective for distal malignant biliary obstruction (DMBO) has been unclear. We compared the clinical outcomes of using L- type and B-type stents because we believe that recurrent biliary obstruction (RBO) is less likely to occur with L-type stents. A case of idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis (Ormond ’s disease) diagnosed by transduodenal EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration/biopsy
A 71-year-old man presented to our department with back pain and significant weight loss within the previous few weeks. Before referral, ambulatory CT revealed a large retroperitoneal soft tissue mass encircling the abdominal aorta and its surrounding vessels (A). He had mild leukocytosis (11,800/ μL) and a C-reactive protein level of 9.58 mg/dL. The clinical picture was highly suggestive of retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF); however, for a definite diagnosis, biopsy of the lesion was necessary. We chose transduodenal EUS-FNA/fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNA/FNB) to obtain tissue because the procedu re is minimally invasive and h...

Analyzing methods for reducing recurrence rates after EMR of large nonpedunculated colorectal polyps: an indirect pairwise comparison
Despite advances in EMR techniques, a high polyp recurrence rate remains a challenge. Due to the scarcity of direct comparisons, we performed an indirect comparison of conventional EMR (EMR alone), underwater EMR (U-EMR), and EMR  + adjuvant thermal ablation of polypectomy margins to assess polyp recurrence rates.
