Novel Speckle Tracking Analysis Showed Excellent Reproducibility for Size and Shape of the Fetal Heart and Good Reproducibility for Strain and Fractional Shortening
Conclusion: Speckle tracking analysis of the fetal heart provides reliable estimations of global and LV shape and deformation. Low correlation in the RV can be related to anatomical structures such as the moderator band.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Successful Treatment of Placental Chorangiomas by Ultrasound-Guided Percutaneous in utero Microcoil Embolization
We report 2 cases of prenatally diagnosed chorangiomas that caused a high-output fetal state and were successfully treated with microcoil embolization. This case series describes our technique and supports microcoil embolization as a potentially safe and effective antenatal treatment option in symptomatic chorangiomas.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Maternal Thinness and Obesity and Customized Fetal Weight Charts
Conclusion: The use of CC(18.5 –25) allows a more accurate identification of LGA and SGA infants at risk of perinatal morbidity than conventional CC. This benefit increase and decrease, respectively, with GA.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Why Do the Fetal Membranes Rupture Early after Fetoscopy? A Review
Iatrogenic preterm premature rupture of the fetal membranes (iPPROM) remains the Achilles ’ heel of keyhole fetal surgery (fetoscopy) despite significant efforts in preclinical models to develop new therapies. This limited success is partially due to incomplete understanding why the fetal membranes rupture early after fetoscopy and notable differences in membrane physiology between hum ans and domestic species. In this review, we summarize aspects of fetoscopy that may contribute to iPPROM, the previous efforts to develop new therapies, and limitations of preclinical models commonly used in fetal membrane research.Fetal ...

Development of a Third Trimester Contingent Prognostic Prediction Scheme for Suspected Early-Onset Pre-Eclampsia
Discussion: Considering repeated assessments, the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio of 38 or below adequately ruled out early-onset PE, leading to delivery within 1 week. However, when sFlt-1/PlGF ratio is above 38, the prediction tool derived from linear mixed model based on GA, NT-proBNP, and sFlt-1 MoM, provided a better prognosis prediction than the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Impact of Brain Malformations on Neurodevelopmental Outcome in Children with a History of Prenatal Surgery for Open Spina Bifida
Conclusion: Additional brain malformations in open SB do not seem to have an impact on cognitive function at 2 years of age. Severe ventriculomegaly is a risk factor for poorer cognitive outcome; hydrocephalus surgery adds an additional risk for delayed motor function.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Short-Term Effects of Dexamethasone versus Betamethasone on Ultrasonic Measures of Fetal Well-Being: Cohort from a Blinded, Randomized Trial
Conclusion: No substantive post-corticosteroid effects were seen for most ultrasound/CTG measures in fetuses with heightened preterm birth risk but predominantly normal pre-corticosteroid measures. Clinically, this suggests avoiding overreliance on individual measures for delivery decisions post-corticosteroid; equally, multiple/marked ultrasound changes suggest true pathology and not corticosteroid effect.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Evaluation of the Fetal Therapy Evidence in Lower Urinary Tract Obstruction: Would an ERAS Guideline Improve Outcomes?
Conclusions: The identified clinical elements have the potential for ERAS-LUTO fetal therapy guideline. Multidisciplinary collaboration (surgeon, anesthesia, nursing, imaging, and laboratory) is required for ERAS quality improvement in the pre-, intra-, and postoperative processes. Process elements in each of the operative areas can be audited, evaluated, compared, and modified/improved.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Long-Term Amnioinfusion through an Intrauterine Catheter in Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes before 26 Weeks of Gestation: A Retrospective Multicenter Study
Conclusions: Long-term amnioinfusion through an intrauterine catheter in PPROM before 26 weeks ’ gestation may improve pregnancy and newborn outcomes.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Do Serial Sonographic Assessments of Fetuses with Isolated Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Help Us Predict Survival?
Conclusion: O/E LHR is associated with perinatal survival. In cases with multiple evaluations, the minimal O/E LHR is the most accurate and significant predictor of perinatal mortality and need for ECMO support.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Isolated Upward Rotation of the Fetal Cerebellar Vermis (Blake ’s Pouch Cyst) Is a Normal Variant: An Analysis of 111 Cases
Conclusions: Isolated URCV is most likely a normal variant of fetal anatomy without clinical consequences, at least at an early follow-up. A BV angle of 25 ° or less predicts intrauterine regression of the finding, but the outcome is good in all the cases. When a confident sonographic diagnosis is made, MRI is not mandatory. The risk of a chromosomal anomaly in these cases is probably low.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Maternal Depressive Risk in Prenatal versus Postnatal Surgical Closure of Myelomeningocele: Associations with Parenting Stress and Child Outcomes
Conclusion: Most mothers reported minimal depressive risk that decreased over time, regardless of whether their infant underwent prenatal or postnatal surgery. Only a small percentage of mothers endorsed moderate to severe depressive risk, but an increase in depressive risk over time was associated with higher parental stress and slightly lower child cognitive development.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Transplacental Transfer and Fetal Pharmacodynamics of Sildenafil in the Pregnant Sheep Model
Conclusion: In sheep, transplacental transfer of sildenafil is extremely low. Though, minimal fetal sildenafil concentrations induce an acute transient pulmonary vasodilation, well-tolerated by the fetus and ewe.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)

Risk Factors Associated with Preterm Prelabor Rupture of Membranes after Cord Occlusion in Monochorionic Diamniotic Twins
Conclusions: PROM #x3c;32 weeks after CO increases the risk of preterm delivery. In this cohort, the membrane rupture was more likely when CO was done in the context of TTTS.Fetal Diagn Ther (Source: Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy)
