The menstrual cycle is influenced by weekly and lunar rhythms
To study whether the menstrual cycle has a circaseptan (7 days) rhythm and whether it is associated with the lunar cycle (also defined as the synodic month, it is the cycle of the phases of the Moon as seen from Earth, averaging 29.5 days in length). (Source: Fertility and Sterility)

Retrospective cohort study comparing success of medical management of early pregnancy loss in pregnancies conceived with and without medical assisance
To compare the success rates of medical management using a combined mifepristone and misoprostol protocol in cases of early pregnancy loss (EPL) between women who conceived without medical assistance to those who conceived through IVF, following fresh- or frozen embryo transfer. To evaluate for predictive factors of success, the time to first passage of tissue, and time to complete resolution of pregnancy. (Source: Fertility and Sterility)

Re: Rossella Cannarella, Rosita Condorelli, Carmelo Gusmano, et  al. Predictive role of 17α-hydroxy-progesterone serum levels in response to follicle-stimulating hormone in patients with abnormal sperm parameters
We read with interest the prospective study, conducted by Cannarella et  al. (1), which involved the predictive value of 17α-hydroxy-progesterone (17 OH-P) levels and improvement in total motile sperm concentration (TSC) in infertile men diagnosed with idiopathic oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (OAT) with normal baseline gonadotropin levels who received 150 IU follicle-s timulating hormone (FSH) three times per week for 3 months. The investigators concluded that pre-FSH treatment serum 17 OH-P levels (Source: Fertility and Sterility)

Association of duration of embryo culture with risk of large for gestational age delivery in cryopreserved embryo transfer cycles
To examine the relationship between the day of embryo cryopreservation and large for gestational age (LGA) infants in women undergoing frozen embryo transfers (FETs) after cryopreservation on days 2 –7 after fertilization and to compare the risk of the day of embryo cryopreservation to other possible risk factors of LGA after FET cycles. Oocyte vitrification for fertility preservation is an evolving practice requiring a new mindset: societal, technical, clinical, and basic science-driven evolutions
Infertility is a condition with profound social implications. Indeed, it is not surprising that evolutions in both medicine and society affect the way in  vitro fertilization is practiced. The keywords in modern medicine are the four principles, which implicitly involve a constant update of our knowledge and our technologies to fulfill the “prediction” and “personalization” tasks, and a continuous reshaping of our mindset in view of all rele vant societal changes to fulfill the “prevention” and “participation” tasks.
