Fascination and concern about experiences in dreams is one of humanity's oldest and most universal cultural traits, tracing back unrecorded millennia into deep time. Psychologists Frederick L. Collidge and Thomas Wynn, authors of How to Think Like a Neanderthal, writing in Psychology Today, argued that more meat in the diet of Australopithecines, allowed for larger brain development. This made Australopithecines more perceptive, and that allowed them to better assess risks, and led to them feeling safe enough to sleep on the ground, instead of in trees. (Source: Explore)

Effective immediately, Judson Brewer, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry and Director of Research for the Center for Mindfulness, will serve as Chief of the new Division of Mindfulness. Naturally Thin You: Weight Loss and Psychological Symptoms After a Six-Week Online Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Course
Traditional methods of delivering therapeutic interventions have increasingly been supplemented by online courses. The current study investigated the effects of Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) in 76 participants enrolled in a six-week online course called Naturally Thin You. Weight, restraint, the power of food in the external environment, happiness, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms were assessed before and after the course and at one-year follow-up. Building Sangha in the American Healthcare Setting for Persons with Chronic Disease
For persons with chronic disease, participation in meditation interventions can reduce anxiety, depression, and chronic disease symptoms in a dose dependent fashion. Unfortunately, information about how to support long-term participation in such an intervention is lacking. Therefore, a recent discovery of persons with chronic lung disease who have maintained a self-led meditation group for more than four years created an opportunity to analyze experiences, meanings and relationship dynamics of this community-based meditation group.
