The influence of prehabilitation in patients with liver cirrhosis before liver transplantation: a randomized clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: Despite the great effort to maintain adherence, it was not possible to draw a conclusion about the effectiveness of prehabilitation in patients before liver transplantation compared to standard of care because the main problem in Slovak patients with liver cirrhosis is low adherence. More studies are needed to identify the barriers that lead to low adherence in patients with liver cirrhosis.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: A promising result was found due to improvement of the Liver Frailty Index and the Child-Pugh Score after one month in the prehabilitation group.PMID:38059578 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.23.081...

The relationship between chronic diseases and the intensity and duration of low back pain
CONCLUSIONS: The presence of chronic diseases was associated with a more intense and longer duration of LBP.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: In view of the results of this study, we expect that those who have chronic diseases will have a longer duration of LBP and more intense pain.PMID:38059574 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.23.07649-9 (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

Rehabilitation approaches in West Nile Virus survivors: a systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: Even if additional research with larger cohorts and higher evidence levels is needed for a comprehensive understanding of WNV patient rehabilitation, an early and comprehensive rehabilitation approach addressing respiratory, neuromuscular, and cognitive aspects appears effective for WNV patient recovery.PMID:38059575 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.23.07880-2 (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

Clinical prediction model for interdisciplinary biopsychosocial rehabilitation in osteoarthritis patients
CONCLUSIONS: This study reports a specific clinical prediction model for good outcome of IMPT in patients with OA. The internally validated model has an acceptable discriminative power of 0.71.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: After external validation, this model could be used to develop a clinically useful decision tool.PMID:38059576 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.23.08071-1 (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

Technology-assisted cardiac rehabilitation for coronary heart disease patients with central obesity: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Results indicated the effectiveness of the TACR intervention in improving healthy behaviors and anthropometric parameters for CHD patients with central obesity. Individual assessment, collaborative action planning, and ongoing obesity management support should be highlighted in TACR programs for CHD patients.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: Central obesity should be assessed and highlighted in TACR intervention as an independent risk factor that requires corresponding behavior change and body fat management.PMID:38059577 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.23.08111-X (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)
