Posttraumatic glaucoma in southern China: A ten-year retrospective study
CONCLUSION: Blunt injury, males, adults, farmers, and rural patients were high-risk factors for posttraumatic glaucoma. Chemical-induced glaucoma management requires a longer hospitalization period, while OGI requires more medical expenditure. This knowledge provides a new reference for clinicians to accurately diagnose and intervene in posttraumatic glaucoma. It also suggests that more education and long-term surveillance are needed regarding the presence of glaucoma after ocular trauma.PMID:38425295 | DOI:10.1177/11206721241236918 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Cataract surgery using two 3D visualization systems: Complication rates, surgical duration & amp; comparison with traditional microscopes
CONCLUSIONS: The implementation of heads up-3D visualization either through a screen or a head mounted platform for cataract surgery seems to offer similar safety and efficiency as the traditional binocular microscope, and both experienced and inexperienced surgeons demonstrate the same outcomes in terms of safety and efficiency.PMID:38419468 | DOI:10.1177/11206721241237298 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Long-Term results of macular buckle for MTM stage 3-4 With maculoschisis and macular detachment without and With lamellar macular hole
CONCLUSIONS: MB as a single procedure, when applied to MTM in stages 3a, 3b, 4a, and 4b, leads to significant anatomical and functional improvement. The MTM Staging System allows us to evaluate the best surgical technique and the surgical timing tailored to the different stages to increase the surgery's success and lower the complications of each technique.PMID:38419477 | DOI:10.1177/11206721241234958 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Small-Incision new generation implantable miniature telescope surgical technique and patient outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: Surgical steps to implant this preloaded intraocular telescope are easier than previous versions, however this remains a complex procedure. Initial patient functional outcomes look promising.PMID:38409807 | DOI:10.1177/11206721241236515 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Choroidal nevus through a broader vision: Retinal imaging acquisition captured with Broad Line Fundus Imaging technology
CONCLUSION: BLFI application in choroidal nevus might be helpful at presentation, refining the diagnostic reliability, and monitoring, as it allows for better detection of alterations in the lesions. The peculiarities of the choroidal nevus are better assessed when using the RC due to its longer wavelength and deeper penetration in the retina and choroid.PMID:38409808 | DOI:10.1177/11206721241235976 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Pitchfork sign following pars Plana vitrectomy for idiopathic epiretinal membrane: A case report
CONCLUSIONS: We reported, for the first time, the iatrogenic onset of the pitchfork sign following vitreoretinal surgery. This discovery highlights the unique presentation of the pitchfork sign in the context of surgical procedures, expanding our comprehension of its range of causes.PMID:38409823 | DOI:10.1177/11206721241234426 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)
