Placental site trophoblastic tumour: A case report and literature review
Introduction: Placental site trophoblastic tumour is a rare type of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) that evolves from unrestricted proliferation of intermediate trophoblasts at placental implantation site. Its incidence is approximately 1 per 100,000 pregnancies. Together with epithelioid trophoblastic tumour they make up only 1-2% of all GTNs. Ovarian carcinosarcoma spread limited to the hernial sac.
Background and objectives: Ovarian carcinosarcoma (OCS) is a very rare tumor composed of a mixture of both carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements. Detection rate is approximately 1% of all women with ovarian tumors. It is characterized by fast and aggressive growth. OCS biology is still poorly known. Most cases are diagnosed at the advanced stage with a five-year survival rate of less than 20%. (Source: European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology)

Morbidly adherent placenta as a cause of peripartum hysterectomy in Slovakia
Introduction and aims: Morbidly adherent placenta (MAP) is one of the major risk factors for peripartum hysterectomy (PH) in developed countries. The main aim of this study was to assess the PH cases associated with MAP in Slovak Republic. Additionally, we wanted to explore demographic parameters, associated clinical circumstances, complications, maternal and fetal outcome. Obstetric venous thromboembolism risk – The 28 week re-check
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) affects 1/100,000 women and is the leading cause of direct maternal deaths. Recent reviews suggest 89% of these women have identifiable risk factors. The MBRRACE-UK 2021 suggested the review of women ’s VTE risk at 28 weeks with recommendation that they should be re-weighed. Foley catheter as a tourniqet for peri-partum hemorrhage prevention in patients with PAS
Introduction and aims of the study: Postpartum hemorrhage is one of the most difficult situations the obstetricians may face. One of the complications in obstetrics often leading to severe bleeding and a need for urgent hysterectomy is placentaaccreta spectrum(PAS) what increases the risk death of the mother and the child. The aim of the study was to demonstrate the feasibility of the use of the Foley catheter as a tourniquet during peripartum hysterectomies. Birth outcomes among pregnancies with covid-19 infection
Introduction and aims of the study: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has started a COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Pregnant women are especially vulnerable to respiratory infection and insufficient studies are made to investigate the pregnant patients with COVID-19 infection. The aim of this research was to examine birth outcomes in pregnancies with COVID-19. (Source: European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology)

The dislocation of the intrauterine device (IUD) into the uterine cesarean section scar defect has a high risk of recurrence
Introduction: The uterine cesarean section scar defect causes postmenstrual uterine bleeding. The niche, particularly with a thin residual myometrium, is a risk factor of uterine rupture at the end of pregnancy and abnormal implantation of the GS or placenta in the area of the uterine scar. IUDs are an effective method of contraception and those with levonorgestrel (IUD-LND) also reduce menstrual bleeding and consequently postmenstrual bleeding. Nevertheless, the presence of a uterine scar defect is a risk factor for the IUD to dislocate into the diverticulum. (Source: European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology)

Cervical length regeneration after large loop electroexcision
Introduction: Large loop electro-excision (LLETZ) is a treatment method of the high grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. LLETZ increases preterm labor risk due to mechanical cervical defect defects and an alteration of the cervical barrier. Cervical length (CL) regeneration after LLETZ and its subsequent impact on the pregnancy outcome is unclear. Some data state that cervical regeneration is completed after six months and is 83.4% ( ±10.8%) from the initial length. (Source: European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology)

Learning from the implementation of clinical empathy training: an explorative qualitative study in search of the barriers and facilitators
Introduction and aim of the study: Amid concerns about the decline of empathy during the clinical training of medical clerks, evidence that empathy improves patient outcomes suggests potential for teaching empathy in ways that will affect the knowledge, attitude and behavior of medical clerks. This research aims to identify the barriers and facilitators of the implementation of a specific clinical initiative to enhance the empathy skills of clerks, namely the training of clerks to act as a medical coach ’.
