The role of social cognition in mental health trajectories from childhood to adolescence
Abstract We investigated the association between an aspect of Theory of Mind in childhood, false-belief understanding, and trajectories of internalising (emotional and peer) and externalising (conduct and hyperactivity) problems in childhood and adolescence. Understanding general and specific associations between cyberbullying and psychopathological symptoms in adolescents: a latent dimensional approach
AbstractCyberbullying (perpetration and victimization) is a prevalent public health problem associated with a wide variety of psychopathological symptoms (e.g., depression, anxiety, delinquent behaviors, and substance use). Identifying patterns of substance use and mental health concerns among adolescents in an outpatient mental health program using latent profile analysis
AbstractThough mental health and substance use concerns often co-occur, few studies have characterized patterns of co-occurrence among adolescents in clinical settings. The current investigation identifies and characterizes these patterns among adolescents presenting to an outpatient mental health service in Ontario, Canada. Latent profile analysis identified patterns of substance use (alcohol, cannabis, (e-) cigarettes) and emotional and behavioral disorder...
