Outcomes of transcatheter edge-to-edge repair for atrial functional mitral regurgitation
CONCLUSIONS: An MR reduction to ≤1+ following TEER was associated with a lower risk of clinical outcomes in patients with AFMR, while an MPG ≥5 mmHg was related to a higher risk of clinical outcomes. Optimal MR reduction by TEER may have potential benefits on the prognosis of patients with AFMR, although the prognostic benefit may be attenuated by an elevated MPG.PMID:38389471 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00819 (Source: EuroIntervention)

Evolving indications for transcatheter mitral edge-to-edge repair
EuroIntervention. 2024 Feb 19;20(4):e230-e238. doi: 10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00700.ABSTRACTTranscatheter mitral edge-to-edge repair (TEER) is an established procedure for managing mitral regurgitation (MR) in high-risk patients. It is effective in treating both primary and secondary MR, as reported in the surgical and interventional literature. Over time, TEER has gained popularity and achieved procedural success in various anatomies. The less invasive nature of TEER, along with its high safety profile and immediate haemodynamic improvement suggest potential benefits in high-risk populations who are not normally included in major ...

Evaluation and management of patients with coronary chronic total occlusions considered for revascularisation. A clinical consensus statement of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) of the ESC, the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) of the ESC, and the ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Surgery
EuroIntervention. 2024 Feb 5;20(3):e174-e184. doi: 10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00749.ABSTRACTChronic total occlusions (CTOs) of coronary arteries can be found in the context of chronic or acute coronary syndromes; sometimes they are an incidental finding in those apparently healthy individuals undergoing imaging for preoperative risk assessment. Recently, the invasive management of CTOs has made impressive progress due to sophisticated preinterventional assessment, including advanced non-invasive imaging, the availability of novel and dedicated tools for CTO percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and experienced interventionalists...
