Controlled hypotensive anesthesia for endoscopic endonasal repair of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea: A comparison between clevidipine and esmolol: Randomized controlled study
Conclusion Both clevidipine and esmolol are effective for inducing controlled hypotension during endoscopic repair of CSF rhinorrhea. Clevidipine has the advantage of having shorter time to reach target MAP with less need of additional hypotensive agent and better surgeon satisfaction. (Source: Egyptian Journal of Anaesthesia)

Ketamine versus fentanyl as an adjuvant to local anesthetics in the peribulbar block for vitreoretinal surgeries: Randomized controlled study
Conclusion Fentanyl or ketamine can be used as a local anesthetic adjuvant in the peribulbar block in patients presented for vitreoretinal surgeries as both of them improved the quality of the block without increasing intraocular pressure. (Source: Egyptian Journal of Anaesthesia)

Dexmedetomidine protects against myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion-induced renal damage in rats
Conclusion These findings imply that MI/R plays a fundamental role in kidney damage through increased production of oxygen radicals or deficiency in antioxidants, and DEX given before ischaemia exerts reno-protective effects probably by its radical scavenging antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory mechanism. A comparison of oblique subcostal transversus abdominis plane block versus thoracic paravertebral block for postoperative analgesia after open cholecystectomy
Conclusions Both ultrasound-guided oblique subcostal transversus abdominis plain block and single injection ultrasound guided thoracic paravertebral block are effective analgesic techniques for upper abdominal surgeries and reduces postoperative opioid requirements. However, thoracic paravertebral block is more effective in reducing morphine consumption. (Source: Egyptian Journal of Anaesthesia)
