Pregorexia: a systematic review and meta-analysis on the constructs of body image dissatisfaction and eating disturbances by gestational age in the peripartum
DISCUSSION: The current work offers normative values of body image satisfaction and eating psychopathology in the peripartum by gestational age. The relevance of current results was discussed, in order to inform both current clinical practice and future public policies.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Level I-Evidence obtained from: systematic reviews and meta-analyses.PMID:37526698 | DOI:10.1007/s40519-023-01595-8 (Source: Eating and weight disorders : EWD)

Fathers in the spotlight: parental burden and the effectiveness of a parental skills training for anorexia nervosa in mother-father dyads
CONCLUSIONS: These findings show that fathers are a great resource for the child's eating disorder treatment as they may counterbalance maternal emotional overinvolvement and over-protection. Furthermore, this is the first study demonstrating that fathers can profit from a parental skills training for anorexia nervosa in a similar way as mothers.LEVEL III: Evidence obtained from well-designed cohort or case-control analytic studies.PMID:37526742 | DOI:10.1007/s40519-023-01597-6 (Source: Eating and weight disorders : EWD)

Dietary recommendations to customize canteen menus according to the nutritional and sensory needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder
Eat Weight Disord. 2023 Aug 1;28(1):66. doi: 10.1007/s40519-023-01590-z.ABSTRACTIndividuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are often characterized by food-selectivity, food-neophobia and a marked preference for mild flavor, semi-liquid foods with pale colors. Therefore, they adopt a monotonous dietary pattern, and they prefer ultra-processed food, leading to a high risk of developing malnutrition. In Italy, where 75,072 individuals are diagnosed with ASD, center-based services play a crucial role in their daily management. Despite the centrality of nutrition in maintaining a good state of health, even more for vulner...

Causal relationships between obesity and pancreatobiliary diseases: a two-sample Mendelian randomization study
This study was designed to explore the causality between obesity which included body mass index(BMI), circumference (WC), hip circumference (HC) and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and pancreatobiliary diseases with a Two-Sample Mendelian Randomization(MR) analysis. single-nucleotide polymorphisms used in our study were derived from genome-wide association studies (GWAS). The inverse variance weighted was the dominated method to evaluate the causality. The heterogeneity was validated by Cochran's Q test. The pleiotropy was validated by MR-Egger regression and MR-PRESSO. The stability and reliability of the results were illustrat...

Measuring cognitive flexibility in anorexia nervosa: Wisconsin Card Sorting Test versus cued task-switching
CONCLUSIONS: Results provide support for previous suggestions that WCST perseverative errors could occur due to difficulties with working memory, sensitivity to feedback, and issues with concept formation. Cued task-switching paradigms may provide a useful measure of cognitive flexibility for future eating disorders research by reducing task-specific confounds.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Level III Case-control analytic study.PMID:37463996 | PMC:PMC10354129 | DOI:10.1007/s40519-023-01589-6 (Source: Eating and weight disorders : EWD)
