Alcohol consumption among first ‐ and second‐generation immigrant and native adolescents in 23 countries: Testing the importance of origin and receiving country alcohol prevalence rates
ConclusionsOur results suggest differences in lifetime frequencies of alcohol use and drunkenness between natives and first‐ and second‐generation immigrant adolescents. Origin country APCC and HED seem to affect immigrant adolescents’ alcohol consumption differently than receiving country APCC and HED. (Source: Drug and Alcohol Review)

Student survey trends in reported alcohol use and influencing factors in Australia
ConclusionsReductions in adolescent alcohol, tobacco and cannabis use from 1999 to 2015 were associated with similar reductions in parent favourable attitudes and availability of substances. It is plausible that a reduced tendency for parents and other adults to supply adolescent alcohol are implicated in the reductions in adolescent alcohol use observed across Australia. The Alcohol Environment Protocol: A new tool for alcohol policy
ConclusionIn countries with fewer resources, alcohol policies are less effective because of lack of implementation and enforcement and, in the case of marketing, lack of regulation. This has implications for the increase in consumption taking place as a result of the expanding distribution and marketing of commercial alcohol and consequent increases in alcohol‐related harm. Are government ‐approved products containing new psychoactive substances perceived to be safer and more socially acceptable than alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs? Findings from a survey of police arrestees in New Zealand
ConclusionsThe PSA was partially successful at separating approved NPS from other drugs. High health‐risk and low social acceptability scores for approved SC may reflect the absence of product testing during the interim PSA market. (Source: Drug and Alcohol Review)
