PS249 Incidence of New Wall Motion Abnormalities on Transthoracic Echocardiogram in Non ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction and its Role in the Likelihood of Revascularization
Patient with non ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) comprise a largest percentage of the acute coronary syndrome spectrum. Transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) is a non-invasive imaging modality frequently used in the management of NSTEMI to evaluate for regional wall motion abnormalities (RWMA). Many studies have evaluated the utility of echocardiogram in evaluation of patients presenting with chest pain in emergency department. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS251 Gender Differences in Aortic Valve Calcification and the Severity of Aortic Stenosis with MDCT
The number of patients referred to our institution due to aortic stenosis has increased significantly in the last two decades. Calcification of the valve is common in this pathology and its etiology has been widely discussed. Multislice tomography scanner has demonstrated to quantify the amount of calcium in these structures by Agatston units. Currently, some reports showed a correlation between aortic valve calcification (AVC) and the severity of aortic stenosis. Furthermore, it has been observed differences in the amount of AVC by gender in general population, however, it is unclear whether this difference impacts the se...

PS252 Predictors of Radiation Dose in Patients Undergoing Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA)
CCTA is increasingly utilised to exclude coronary artery disease in patients at low to intermediate cardiovascular risk. Despite dose reduction advances, the effects of ionizing radiation exposure remain a concern. In the local population, factors that predict radiation dose in patients undergoing CCTA have yet to be determined. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS253 Cardiac Tumors: 16 Years of Experience in the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez
Cardiac neoplasms are rare with an extremely low incidence. The differential diagnosis includes vegetations, thrombus and tumors; The benign tumors represent 80% of the primary cardiac neoplasms and myxomas are the most prevalent type. Angiosarcoma is the most frequent malignant neoplasm. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS254 Left Ventricular Dyssynchrony and Regional Wall Motion Abnormalities Evaluated by Myocardial Perfusion Gated Tc99m Mibi Spect Studies as Ancilliary Markers of Ischemia
Ischemia has demonstrated to be responsible of transient regional wall motion (RWM) abnormalities and fall in Left Ventricular (LV) Ejection Fraction. LV dyssynchrony (LVD) measured by gated Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) quantitative indices given by phase analysis have shown controversial results in being a marker of post stress myocardial ischemic stunning. PS256 “Influence of Myocardial Perfusion Spect Stress With G- and TC - 99m Sestamibi in Restratification Cardiovascular Risk in Women, Experience in the Central Military Hospital”
Cardiovascular disease in women, in the post menopause is the leading cause of mortality in this group worldwide. There have been numerous efforts to clarify the cardiovascular risk in this group of patients, in order to prevent associated mortality. In the seventies, the CASS study included a total of 5990 female patients with angiographically documented coronary artery disease and found that the use of traditional risk factors has a limited ability to determine the presence of coronary artery disease in this population. PS257 Gender Differences in Peak-Stress Myocardial Blood in Patients with Suspected CAD: A Study with 13N-Ammonia Pet
PET myocardial perfusion represents the current reference technique for quantification of rest myocardial blood flow (rMBF), stress MBF (sMBF) and myocardial perfusion reserve (MPR). It has been described that rMBF is higher in female patients than in their male counterparts and several hypothesis might explain such difference, including the hormonal and lipid profile. Nevertheless, there has not been description of a difference in sMBF and MPR between men and women. Both these measures are being considered to offer diagnostic value in the setting of coronary artery disease (CAD) although no gender adjustment is performed....

PS261 Risk Stratification in Children With Heart Disease:
Health outcomes have been increasingly scrutinized as the best source of information about how to deliver optimal medical treatment. Indeed, evaluation of health care practice without outcome assessment can be readily criticized as lacking relevance. However, outcome evaluation, even for easily measured outcomes such mortality, requires data collection and complex analytical techniques for interpretation. On the other hand, before the technological advances of the modern world, including cardiovascular surgery, the patients with congenital heart disease had a desolate future. PS265 Analysis of Atrioventicular Septal Defect in Children in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, West Africa
Atrio-ventricular canal defect (AVCD ) accounts for 0-19 per 1000 live births and 2.9% of congenital heart diseases. It is one of the congenital heart disease most frequently associated with extracardiac, chromosomal and genetic anomalies. Depending on the pathologic anatomy of the malformation, the symptoms vary from asymptomatic in infancy to severe symptoms of heart failure accounting for high morbidity and mortality. The association of AVCD with Down syndrome have been extensively reported and there are few reports on AVCD in non-Downs syndrome and other genetic syndromes and none from Africa.
