PS219 Community Based Integrated Approach for Managing Blood Pressure: Findings From a Five-Year Prospective Cohort Study in Urban Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, 32% women and 19% men age 35 and older has high blood pressure of which 45% women and 57% men are unaware of their elevated blood pressure. Moreover, a considerable proportion of population (11% women and 8% men) that are aware of their elevated blood pressure, are not under any treatment. A community based lifestyle modification based prospective cohort study “Non Communicable Diseases Program (NCDP)” was conducted in urban Bangladesh among patients with high blood pressure. PS222 Improvement of the Patients ’ Routes and Nursing Management of Patients Undergoing Biventricular Device Implantation
During the past years the number of CRT device implantations at our Department has risen dramatically to a current 320 per year and accounts for significant proportion of the annual 2000 device implant rate. Day to day management of the patients at a 20 bed ward allocated to the pacemaker surgery room and electrophysiology lab in our high volume center is challenging, even most procedures require only a one-day admission of the patient. PS226 Cost Analysis of Elective PCI and Clinical Outcomes: A Comparison of Six Tertiary Referral Centre in Malaysia
Cardiovascular disease remains an important cause of death, contributing to 20-25% of all mortality in public hospitals in Malaysia. In recent years, there has been considerable progress in coronary revascularization and the costs of intervention. The advancement in stent technology has made percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) technically feasible in treating most coronary stenosis patients. The resources required to run PCI procedures are still limited to small number of tertiary hospitals in Malaysia. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS227 Silica Nanoparticles Induces Cardiotoxicity Interfering With CA2+ Handling in Adult Rat Cardiomyocytes
Nanomaterials such as Silica (silicon dioxide, SiO2) are used to improve or create new functional properties to regular products, however, recently there has been enormous evidence showing that nanoparticles might exert potential risks to environment, food chain and human health. Several studies have shown that nanoparticles can penetrate to the body by different mechanisms and routes such as the skin, the respiratory system or the gastrointestinal tract, and translocate to different organs through the circulatory system reaching important organs such as the heart, lungs and kidneys. PS230 Interleukin-27 Polymorphisms are Associated With Premature Coronary Artery Disease and Insulin Resistance. The Genetics of Atherosclerotic Disease (GEA) Mexican Study
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is an immune-mediated chronic inflammatory disease. The interleukin 27 (IL-27) has a dual role in immune response with both pro- and anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies suggest that IL-27 is involved in CAD, however, no previous studies have examined the association of IL-27 gene polymorphisms (IL27p28) with premature CAD. PS232 Clinical Investigation on the Use of Smartphone for Oxygen Saturation, Blood Pressure, and Heart Rate Measurement in Intensive Care Unit
We have previously demonstrated the ability to use smartphone to monitor vital signs in stable patients. In literature, there are not sill relevant data about the use of smartphone in unstable patients admitted in critical area. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS237 Acute Effects of Cigarette Smoking on the Right and Left Ventricular Functions Among Chronic and Light Smokers

PS240 Clinical and Hemodynamic Analysis of the Treatment With Ivabradine in Severe Aortic Stenosis
Aortic stenosis is the most common valvular disease. Aortic valve replacement reduce mortality, but 33-50% of patients (pts) reject the intervention. No drug was shown to reduce mortality, but a high % of pts use beta blockers (BB), a negative inotropic drug. As in other cardiac pathologies, we assume that the reduction of heart rate (HR) in symptomatic severe aortic stenosis (SSAS) could be beneficial. We reduce HR with ivabradine, and change BB by ivabradine, safe drug without negative inotropic effect. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS324 Characterization of Bleeding and Thrombotic Events Dialysis Patients Who are Treated with Antithrombotic Agents
The End-Stage Renal Disease ESRD, is one of the diseases fastest growing worldwide turn is classified as a public health problem due to increased morbidity, mortality and represents high costs to the system of health. Moreover, current evidence has shown that cardiovascular risk scales used in the general population, are not fully extrapolated to the group of patients with ESRD and that in several cases the results of the studies have been inconclusive in determining whether there is a increased risk of bleeding or thromboembolic complications.
