PS121 Hyponatremia in Decompensated Heart Failure Patients, in Colombia
Heart failure is a clinical and public health problem worldwide, and its prevalence has been increasing progressively in Latin American countries. Moreover, decompensated heart failure accounts for a significant number of hospitalizations and deaths. In addition, it is relevant to carry out research to try to determine aspects or variables that can prevent severe or fulminant disease outcomes. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS125 Functional Capacity Is an Independent Predictor of Mortality in Heart Failure Patients With Low Ejection Fraction
Abnormal six-minute walk test (6MWT) findings which indicates decreased functional capacity is considered as predictor of increased cardiovascular risk and mortality. However, the importance of this variable as predictor of mortality in heart failure (HF) patients with low ejection fraction (EF) is not well established. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS126 Semi-Invasive Method to Avoid Adverse Hemodynamic Programming in Cardiac Rezynchronization
Non-responder rate in cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) could be decreased by individualized optimization of pacing parameters. In heart failure patients with sinus rhythm, an atrial kick enables completion of atrial contraction and may significantly enhance the ventricular filling. In contrast, exclusion of atrial kick is a clear sign of suboptimal atrioventricular timing. However, echocardiographic recognition of atrial kick will be negatively affected in patients requiring very short or long AV delays. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS130 Elevated Neutrophils, Monocytes and White Cell Counts in Patients With Myocardial Infarction Compared With Stable Coronary Artery Disease
Myocardial infarction (MI) is associated with significant inflammation. White cell count (WCC) subtypes are also associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors. However, little is known on the levels of WCC subtypes and ratios during MI. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS131 The Paradoxical Association of Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio With Coronary Artery Disease in High Risk Young and Older Patients
Thrombocytosis and inflammation are vital elements in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) is a novel biomarker that combines these two parameters and has been shown to be associated with CVD. Few studies have examined PLR and its relationship to angiographically demonstrated CAD. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS134 Type D Personality in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
It has been recently established that psychosocial risk factors including “distressed” (type D) personality influence significantly on coronary artery disease (CAD). At the same time, the data about type D personality in patients with CAD after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are insufficient. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS135 Correlation Between the Coronary Angiography and Continuity of Patients to Drug Therapy in Coronary Heart Disease
In modern cardiology interventional procedures play an important prognostic role. However, they are only a one-time step to improve the quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease. An important role in the prognosis and course of the disease has a succession of patients to drug therapy. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS140 Effect of Ivabradine on the Infarct Size and Remodeling in Patients With Stemi
Coronary artery disease remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Increase in heart rate induced by physical or emotional effort is well known as an important determinant of ischemia. Ischemia results when myocardial perfusion is insufficient to meet metabolic demand. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)

PS144 Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome in Acute Coronary Syndrome in Nepalese Population
Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) is rapidly increasing in prevalence worldwide as a consequence of the global epidemics of obesity and sedentary lifestyles. Presence of MetS increases the risk of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) twice in next 5 to 10 years. In health care services the value of MetS derives largely from its potential to reduce the risk of CVD in the general population by treating the disease. (Source: CVD Prevention and Control)
