Clinical Risk Assessment and Comparison of Bias Between Laboratory Methods for Estimation of HbA1c for Glycated Hemoglobin in Hyperglycemic Patients
CONCLUSION: The immunoturbidimetric and high-performance liquid chromatography techniques for estimating HbA1c yielded identical results. From the results of this study, we may deduce that both techniques are valid for estimating HbA1c. As a result, it may be suggested that both approaches can be used to estimate HbA1c in diabetic individuals.PMID:37921160 | DOI:10.2174/0115733998257140231011102518 (Source: Current Diabetes Reviews)

Novel Approaches for the Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: An Update
Curr Diabetes Rev. 2023 Oct 5. doi: 10.2174/0115733998261903230921102620. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDiabetes mellitus is an irreversible, chronic metabolic disorder indicated by hyperglycemia. It is now considered a worldwide pandemic. T2DM, a spectrum of diseases initially caused by tissue insulin resistance and slowly developing to a state characterized by absolute loss of secretory action of the β cells of the pancreas, is thought to be caused by reduced insulin secretion, resistance to tissue activities of insulin, or a combination of both. Insulin secretagogues, biguanides, insulin sensitizers, alpha-glucosidase ...

A Review on Diabetic Retinopathy
Curr Diabetes Rev. 2023 Oct 20. doi: 10.2174/0115733998253672231011161400. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDiabetic retinopathy is a well-recognised microvascular complication of diabetes and is among the leading cause of blindness all over the world. Over the last decade, there have been advances in the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema. At the same time, newer therapies for the management of diabetic retinopathy have evolved. As a result of these advances, a decline in severe vision loss due to diabetes has been witnessed in some developing countries. However, there is a steady increase in the nu...

Research-based Analytical Procedures to Evaluate Diabetic Biomarkers and Related Parameters: In Vitro and In Vivo Methods
Conclusion: The development of new biomarkers is greatly facilitated by modern technology such as cell culture research, lipidomics study, microRNA biomarkers, machine learning techniques, and improved electron microscopies. These biomarkers do, however, have some usage restrictions. There is a critical need to find more accurate and sensitive biomarkers. With a few modifications, these biomarkers can be used with or even replace conventional markers of diabetes.PMID:37867271 | DOI:10.2174/0115733998252495231011182012 (Source: Current Diabetes Reviews)
