Effects of different mind-body exercises on glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes: A network meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: All mind-body exercises help to improve blood glucose and lipid levels in T2DM patients, but the ranking of relative effectiveness needs to be rationalized. Our study suggests that T2DM patients should choose appropriate mind-body exercises according to their conditions and stick to them for a long time under their healthcare professionals' guidance to achieve effective diabetes control.PMID:37769432 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctcp.2023.101802 (Source: Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice)

Yoga as an adjunct treatment for the eating disorders: A qualitive enquiry of clinician perspectives
CONCLUSIONS: Clinicians viewed yoga as a safe and suitable transdiagnostic treatment, with the potential to support individuals with a more holistic and sustained recovery model. Clinicians raised concerns that might arise with the use of yoga for this cohort, however, they also emphasised the ability for these to be mitigated with a series of key adaptations. Importantly, clinicians recommended that yoga is implemented and monitored alongside ED treatment to ensure its suitability and safety. Key barriers for implementing yoga as an adjunct treatment and future research directions are discussed. Recent research has explor...

Quantitative Evidence of the effect of Baduanjin exercise on quality of life and cardiac function in adults with chronic heart failure
CONCLUSION: Evidence from the meta-analysis support the beneficial effects of Baduanjin exercise on the QoL, cardiac function, and VO2max in patients with CHFin China. For optimal QoL improvements, it is recommended to engage in Baduanjin exercise 5-7 times per week for 30-60 min, over a duration of at least 8 weeks. In terms of NT-Pro BNP, Baduanjin exercise sessions of 30-60 min, 2-7 times per week, for a minimum of 8 weeks are recommended.PMID:37717550 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctcp.2023.101775 (Source: Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice)
