Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B contributes to neuropathic pain by aggravating NF- κB and glial cells activation-mediated neuroinflammation via promoting endoplasmic reticulum stress
CONCLUSIONS: The upregulation of PTP1B induced by SNI facilitates the activation of NF-κB and glial cells via ER stress in the spinal dorsal horn. This, in turn, leads to an increase in the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby contributing to the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain. Therefore, targeting PTP1B could be a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of neuropathic pain.PMID:38334011 | PMC:PMC10853896 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14609 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

Gut microbiota regulates hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury-induced cognitive dysfunction via the HDAC2-ACSS2 axis in mice
CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that acetate metabolism is impaired in the hippocampus of HIRI-induced cognitive impairment mice and related to dysbiosis, leading to compromised histone acetylation.PMID:38334013 | PMC:PMC10853894 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14610 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

The landscape of PBMCs in AQP4-IgG seropositive NMOSD and MOGAD, assessed by high dimensional mass cytometry
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings describe the whole landscape of PBMCs in two similar demyelinated diseases and suggest that, besides MNPs, T, NK and B, cells were all involved in the pathogenesis. The identified cell population may be used as a predictor for monitoring disease development or treatment responses.PMID:38334017 | PMC:PMC10853888 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14608 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

Neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging quantifies microstructural impairment in the thalamus and its connectivity in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
CONCLUSIONS: Microstructural impairment in the thalamus and thalamocortical connectivity is the hallmark of ALS. NODDI improved the detection of disrupted thalamo-cortical connectivity in ALS.PMID:38334027 | PMC:PMC10853891 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14616 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

Sevoflurane causes cognitive impairment by inducing iron deficiency and inhibiting the proliferation of neural precursor cells in infant mice
CONCLUSION: The results from the present study demonstrated that Sev-induced iron deficiency might be a new mechanism of cognitive impairment caused by inhaled anesthetics in infant mice. Iron supplementation before anesthesia is an effective strategy to prevent cognitive impairment caused by Sev in infants.PMID:38334030 | PMC:PMC10853893 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14612 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)
