Characteristics of registered research in peritoneal dialysis: Past and present
The objective of this study was to describe the current landscape of PD clinical trials to assess trends and gaps in clinical research. An advanced search was completed through ClinicalTrials.gov, yielding 248 studies. Descriptive statistics and Fisher exact tests were used for statistical analysis. Most studies were completed (197, 79.4%), did not indicate a phase (143, 57.7%), were academically sponsored (156, 62.9%), or conducted in Asia (88, 35.5%). There has been overall growth in PD clinical trials since 1995. The type of phase was related to study location (p = 0.008). The type of study intervention was related to s...

Efficacy of roxadustat in maintenance hemodialysis patients with erythropoietin-hyporesponsive anemia
CONCLUSION: Roxadustat could effectively improve anemia; the PLR and dialysis age were independent predictors of roxadustat efficacy in dialysis patients with EPO hypo-responsive anemia.PMID:37969110 | DOI:10.5414/CN111109 (Source: Clinical Nephrology)

Plasma neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin predicts renal tubulointerstitial injury in patients with IgA nephropathy
CONCLUSION: The pNGAL levels in patients with IgAN are positively correlated with the Lee and Oxford classifications of T scores. The level of pNGAL in IgAN patients is found to be a prominent indicator for identification of renal tubulointerstitial injury and perhaps this feature may make it a non-invasive predictor for progression of IgAN.PMID:37942929 | DOI:10.5414/CN111270 (Source: Clinical Nephrology)
